Edwin's Pov
A few hours later I hear the metal door open and close again.
"Edwin?" A soft familiar voice calls out.
"Edores." I choke out needing to see her again, to hold her again. These last 24 hours have been hell. We've barely spent at longest an hour away from each other
"Edwin." Her face pales when she sees me, "Leon promised you would be okay. You got tortured, your face-"
"A few guards came in, disobeying Leon, they beat me up with the famous torture belt." I chuckle dryly then coughing.
"I brought you some water and energy bars." She hands me the goods through the bars careful not to electrocute herself. My baby's so smart.
"I can't believe he double-crossed us." I say after a moment of silent eating and drinking.
"He didn't. He just gave that impression to save our asses. Apparently we would've been caught and captured had he not directed the two guards attention to you and the King and Queen." Edores sighs.
"I'm so sorry."
"Why are you apologizing?" She raises a brow.
"I don't know. I mean I got you into this..." I trail off.
"Hey! We're in this together remember?" She whispers reaching her hand inside the cell bars. I just shake my head not wanting her to accidentally electrocute herself. She smiles gently. "I love you Edwin. Everything will be okay? Alright?"
"I love you too." I whisper. "God this month has been crazy. I just want things to be okay."
"They will be. I promise. We will get justice for your sister and escape this crazy place. I promise okay? I'm not leaving anytime soon and nor is Bursen. We're here for you, you aren't in this alone."
"I know. Thank you for that. How is he? How are your friends?" I ask.
"They're okay. Just nervously pacing around waiting for Leon's directions on what next. Bursen is just waiting for him to mind-link updates and all. That's how we know Leon was telling the truth and that he's just trying to seem as undercover as possible. So don't worry about him, he's trying to be a good friend you know?"
"I'm sure he is. I jumped to conclusions too quickly." I sigh.
"Leon understands. I mean he knows if the roles were reversed he would get that impression as well. It's totally understandable." Edores smiles.
"Good. I wish you all left the palace though. You all being here is dangerous."
"Edwinnnn I said I would never leave you alone. So get that through your thick big head!"
"Which thick big head?" I smirk.
"You are incorrigible." Edores rolls her eyes bringing a chuckle out of me.
"I'm just trying to make this situation lighter don't blame me." I laugh.
"Yeah yeah okay." She laughs too. "Anyways, the half hour is almost up and you know, don't want to get caught. I'll see you soon at the cave-hopefully, if not then same time tomorrow here." She sighs.
"Okay. Thank you for the food and water." I smile.
"Of course."
"I love you." I grin.
"I love you too. Sleep well." She blows a kiss then walks out of the dungeon quietly and waves without turning around.
