Edores' Pov
I've never felt as helpless as I've been feeling this past week hobbling around in crutches like a madwoman. Edwin and the others come to my beck and call to help me whenever I've fallen down the steps, whenever I need food, whenever literally anything happens, at least one of them is by my side. I should feel grateful, but I'm absolutely miserable and bored. Edwin knows it. They all know it. But they don't want to move until I can at least walk around for half an hour before falling down or yelping in pain.
"What happened that day? Before you came here wearing the crown? What happened during the fight? You looked distraught." I ask the questions I've been wondering this past week.
"Did your mom mention anything about Atlas having step-cousins?" Edwin asks, slumping on our couch in our room.
"No? He had no family, it was just him and the other Gods. Unless his cousins were Gods? I don't know." I shrug sitting down next to him, "Why?"
"Apparently Monen has/had a twin brother, Timothee, who I had killed with Mom and Dad. So he was at the fight, I killed him first. He said a lot of shit about you, Eden, and some other stuff I refuse to remember. But something he had said was that he was step-cousins with your birth father, which really threw me off. I mean I assumed he was lying because everyone's memories got erased about Gods, but I don't know, I can't help but wonder...but maybe that was what he wanted, he wanted to get in my head."
I frown, shocked at the news. Would that mean that Edwin was my step-second cousin or something? Or does that not matter since that isn't blood-related anyway? Or maybe he's right, Monen lied.
"I can ask Mom about it if you'd like, if that would make you feel better." I suggest.
"That would be great." He kisses my forehead with a smile. Still gotta love those forehead kisses.
"Cool, uh when all this is over we can teleport to her place. Although, what if it is all over? I mean is there any way to know if that was the whole council or not?" I ask.
"I have a feeling it is over, but for now I think we should stay on our toes, just in case. Especially since we just announced me being King a couple of days ago. You know, about that, we still haven't decided where we're going to stay."
"Well my castle is pretty much ruined so it makes sense to stay at yours. Until and unless we rebuild mine and decide to live here. But we could also go back and forth maybe...once we settle down." I shrug.
"Oh no, remember I promised you the nice homey cottage to raise our family in? We go to the castles for royal business and other affairs. But we live at that home mostly and our kids grow up there, you know? I wasn't kidding then. I had a horrible childhood growing up in a huge castle. Everyone was in their separate quarters, we didn't bond much. I don't want that for our future kids."
"Kids?" I raise a brow.
"Kids." He affirms grinning, "Unless you don't want any of that of course."
"No, I do, I like your idea. But maybe I don't need a castle. We can just use yours for all of that royal business. And then the homey cottage to live and grow old in, with our two kids."
"Two? That's it?" Edwin's eyes widened.
"Why are you so obsessed with this? I'm not going through a painful pregnancy more than two times. That's already pushing it. It was originally one, but you kept saying 'kids' plural." I chuckle..
"Fine, fine. Two kids is fine. Anyways, you do need a castle, what rubbish. The King of the Dark Wizards has a palace and The Queen of All Supernaturals doesn't? What stupidity does that show?"
