"My uncle seemed to like you," Jay mentioned as soon as we settled in a table.

"Why? I merely greeted him"

"I don't know either, I just saw him looking at you happily"

I glanced at his uncle and when he saw me, he flashed a big smile and an okay sign. I nodded in response to it.

"He wished to have a son but sadly, my aunt passed away along with my cousin"

The mood changed quickly as soon as I heard the story. That must be so sad; imagine the months of excitement and preparation only to be welcomed by the sad news.

"How old would your cousin be if he's still alive?" I asked him as I needed to confirm my thoughts.

"Just months younger than me"

"I see, what was his previous job?"

Although I'm a bit interrogative now, I know where I am heading.

"Well, he was a chef before then he's been keeping himself isolated after what happened"

I was just listening to Jay while looking at his uncle from time to time.

"After receiving treatment, he finally gained himself back and now, he finally decided to open their restaurant, this was their dream"

I sighed deeply as I realized how it surely pained him. You know, getting the dream you prayed for together only to end up achieving it alone. The good thing is, he might be physically alone, but I'm sure he is spiritually accompanied by his late wife and son.

Similar to them, Jihoon and I once had a dream too, and now, we don't know each other's whereabouts. He might've forgotten me and found new friends but my loyalty to our friendship will never be taken. I must say, I am not yet ready to move on.

"I think I know why he's happy"

"What? How?"

"Maybe he sees his son to me after all I'm with you because if it wasn't me, for sure, it would be your cousin sitting here with you"

"Yeah, I just realized that," he said monumentally.

"You know what, why don't we eat here regularly during lunchtime?" he suddenly suggested.

Of course, I would be glad to agree not until...

The same scent again...

I just knew he was near us. I tried to calm myself down, preparing for what was going to happen next.

"They're here" Jay confirmed. I didn't glance at them; there was no way I would waste my time looking at them, especially if I saw him with that girl who just called me rude.

Well...I admit I was but it was a defense mechanism against their behavior.

"I don't think they could see us here" Jay uttered. I sighed heavily and knocked on the table to catch Jay's attention.

"If you keep looking at them, they will surely see us"

"Oops..." he gave in eventually as we waited for our food. Although Jay was right, we're somehow hidden by a huge structure.

More and more students entered; they probably heard that he was going to eat there. I wouldn't be surprised any more as most of the students who went in were girls.

I was more glad that a set of friends sat next to our table covering us more to their view.

"I already miss that cat. I wonder where he's staying right now"
