𝙅𝙄𝙃𝙊𝙊𝙉 once told me that in order to survive school, you need a friend to rely on. We promised to rely on each other once we went to school together, but that promise did not go as planned.
I have been wondering to this day if he still remembers me, if he could still recall me as his friend. Did he find a new friend? What if he did, and I'm still here, stuck in the past when I could do the same.
I have ample time to reminisce about our memories together, but now is not the time for that. I am hesitating to go to the library and meet my group mates, which was not originally my decision, if it weren't for that guy.
As I neared the library, I saw a familiar figure walking clockwise as if he was worried about something. I frowned in confusion; this popular guy sometimes acts strangely whenever I'm near him.
Students were also staring at him, but unlike me, in their eyes, everything about him is amusing, a feast for their vision. Well, I give that to him; after all, he really has the aura and facade.
Then, I saw our class monitor who went outside. She leaned on the wall, crossing her arms and looking at that guy. She talked to him, but I couldn't hear; she then shook her head.
But wait, is he waiting for me? That question popped into my mind. I don't want to agree, but my conscience says a lot. I am not that important; in previous years, I always resorted to individual work whenever there was a group task. So, it is always my fault for being invisible.
Realization hit me, so I calmed down and finally thought about working it out. I told myself that this is what I came here for. From a distance, I walked in their direction, finally facing the real deal.
My assumption was true when they saw me approaching. I saw how that guy halted from walking, raised his arm, and waved at me as if I didn't see him, when all this time, I was watching him like a ferris wheel.
I breathed out my worries and relaxed myself. But when I looked back, I saw him walking towards me, wearing his bright smile, which aggravated me for some reason. Now, people were watching him, and that included me!
As I drew closer to him, my world stopped spinning when he did the most questionable act ever!
He hugged me!
"What the hell?"
"Wait, is that his friend?"
"I don't remember seeing them together; it's just Hanjin and Hannah."
"Isn't he the transferee? Could it be that he was his old friend who enrolled here?"
"My cousin told me that Shinyu was treating him well in their classroom."
"I am so jealous! I wish I could be him."
I heard those words from the people around. I was in mild panic after he released me from his arms. This guy just could not leave me alone; he already bothered me from coming here, and now he even hugged me in front of so many people as if we were close!
"Thanks for coming! I am really glad you showed up," he stated.
"Please, don't do that again," I warned him. His smile disappeared a little after what I said. Like his mannerism, he put his hand again at the back of his head and rubbed it awkwardly.
"I'm so sorry, I got carried away," he retorted.
I walked first, and he immediately followed me, even matching my pace so we could walk side by side. This guy is just unbelievable! You would assume that he's picking on you if this happens to anyone.
