"I like the way you roasted those girls back there," Jay said as soon as we took our seats. We went straight to his Uncle's restaurant instead because I didn't know how long my patience would last if I saw those crazy girls again.
"They're really crazy," I said, shaking my head.
"That's common for them. They're just jealous because Shinyu's attention is on you," Jay replied.
"Why is that? I mean, why would he do that?" I asked, furrowing my brow.
"Stupid!" Jay exclaimed, and I was so shocked by his outburst. "No offense, but don't you really feel it? Or is it just me?"
"Like what?" I inquired, feeling a bit flustered.
"Never mind. I don't want to jump to conclusions like I promised you," he answered, but his eyes held a hint of disappointment. I was still frowning, trying to figure out what he was about to tell me. All I could think about was our friendship, though.
"Geez, is that Hanjin?" Jay suddenly stated, looking towards the door entrance.
"Girls, I appreciate you all, but I really need my personal time right now," I heard Hanjin explain. There were a bunch of girls following him. I never knew Hanjin was this popular either.
"Let's take pictures next time, okay? No following for now, please!" Hanjin was so desperate, and I could see how uncomfortable he was as some girls were trying to grab him.
"What's going on here?" It was Jay's uncle.
"Ladies, this is not a place for fan meetings. Please respect this young man's privacy or I'll call the Principal," he said firmly. They felt threatened by his words and left with slumped shoulders. I saw Hanjin sigh in relief and thank Jay's uncle.
Then, our eyes met, and at first, he was shocked, but then he smiled at me and walked towards our table.
"Mind if I share this table with you?" he asked me. Looking at Hanjin, I realized just how handsome he was. He had a strikingly beautiful face for a man.
"Dohoon? Are you okay?" he asked, waving his hand in front of my face. I snapped back to reality.
"Hey, sorry, what did you just say?"
"I'm asking if I can sit-"
"Of course!" I immediately answered and motioned for him to sit. I thought he's going to sit beside me but he chose what's nearest to Jay. I just shrugged it away.
"What a small world indeed," Jay suddenly remarked, and we both looked at him.
"Hello, Jay! Long time no see!" Hanjin greeted.
"Yeah, you really surprised me this time," Jay said.
"Says who? I'm more surprised to see you with this handsome club president again," Hanjin said, and I smiled awkwardly, giving him a light nudge to stop his teasing.
"You never told me, Dohoon, that you guys are close already," Jay said.
"Are you jealous now?" Hanjin asked with a smirk.
"Unbelievable. If you're interested in him, I don't think you stand a chance against someone you really know," Jay retorted, and I looked at him, confused. He just winked at me, his playful demeanor back.
"Am I missing something?" Hanjin wondered, squinting his eyes.
"No, don't listen to him," I quickly said, and Jay just giggled. Sometimes, it was strange to see him acting out of character.
