The sun dipped low on the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the park as Jungkook and Jimin settled into their usual spot under the tree. The familiar sounds of chirping birds and rustling leaves filled the air, creating a perfect backdrop for their meeting. Today felt different, though—there was an undercurrent of excitement as they both knew their conversations would venture into new territory.

“So, how’s it going with Tae?” Jungkook asked, leaning back against the trunk of the tree, curiosity evident in his eyes.

Jimin's face lit up at the mention of his friend. “Tae? He’s been great! Always full of energy and fun ideas. He keeps me on my toes, you know?” Jimin chuckled, recalling some of Tae’s latest antics. “Just the other day, he suggested we try karaoke, but I was too shy to join him.”

Jungkook laughed, picturing Tae’s enthusiastic personality. “I can see that! He seems like the kind of guy who would make anyone sing, whether they want to or not.”

“Exactly!” Jimin said, his laughter fading slightly. “But I love that about him. He brings out a side of me that I didn’t know existed.”

“That’s awesome,” Jungkook replied, feeling a warmth in his chest at Jimin’s happiness. “You really need to introduce me to him sometime. I want to see this dynamic in action.”

Jimin’s smile faltered for a moment as a hint of unease crept into his expression. “Oh, um… yeah, maybe…” he said slowly, his voice trailing off. The thought of introducing Tae to Jungkook felt overwhelming. He was a bit reserved when it came to his friendships, unsure of how to blend different aspects of his life.

“What about your friends, Jin and Namjoon? I’ve heard a bit about them, but I’d love to know more,” Jimin said, eager to steer the conversation away from himself.

Jungkook smiled, feeling a sense of pride as he spoke about his friends. “Jin is the oldest and has this crazy sense of humor. He’s always making grandpa jokes that make everyone groan but laugh at the same time. He’s just so easy to be around.”

Jimin chuckled, imagining Jin’s antics. “Sounds like a fun guy! And Namjoon?”

“Namjoon is incredibly smart. He’s like a walking encyclopedia. Always reading and sharing interesting facts,” Jungkook explained, a fondness evident in his voice. “He balances out Jin’s silliness. They’re a great duo. They will be excited   to meet you. It must be fun.”

Jimin felt a flicker of anxiety at Jungkook’s suggestion. “Sounds like I need to meet them too…” he said hesitantly, his tone wavering. “But I’m not sure… I don’t usually mix my friends together.”

“Why not?” Jungkook asked, tilting his head in curiosity. “It could be fun! The four of us could have a lot of laughs together. I think everyone would get along really well.”

“I don’t know…” Jimin replied, fidgeting slightly. The idea of bringing his worlds together felt daunting. He preferred the comfort of his familiar routines and the safety of his small circle. “I just… I’m a bit reserved about that kind of thing.”

Jungkook nodded, picking up on Jimin's discomfort. “That’s okay! No pressure. I just thought it would be nice, but we can take our time with it.”

“Yeah, maybe just a little later,” Jimin said, relieved that Jungkook understood. “I mean, I like the idea, but it’s hard for me to think about it right now.”

With that, the two fell into a comfortable rhythm of conversation, sharing stories about their friends and teasing each other about their own quirks. As the evening wore on, the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, but the warmth of their friendship continued to radiate.

In that moment, under the vast expanse of stars beginning to twinkle above them, Jimin felt a sense of comfort in their bond. Though the thought of meeting Jungkook’s friends was intimidating, he knew that their growing connection was something special—an opportunity for new experiences, even if it took a little time for him to embrace it.

As the evening grew cooler, the soft rustle of leaves filled the quiet space between them. Jungkook glanced at his watch, realizing it was getting late. “It’s getting dark. Should we head back?”

Jimin smiled softly, but there was a hint of hesitation in his voice as he replied, “You go ahead, Jungkook. I’ll stay for a little while longer. I… like the quiet.”

Jungkook frowned slightly, concerned. “Are you sure? I don’t mind waiting.”

Jimin shook his head gently, the smile still on his lips. “No, really, it’s fine. I just need a few more minutes. I’ll head back soon.”

There was something in Jimin’s tone that made Jungkook pause, but eventually, he nodded. “Alright. But don’t stay out too long, okay?”

Jimin chuckled lightly, “I won’t. Thanks, though.”

With one last look, Jungkook gave a small wave and began to walk away, casting a glance back over his shoulder as Jimin sat under the tree, his figure outlined against the fading light.

Jimin waited until he could no longer hear Jungkook’s footsteps before letting out a deep breath. The night was still, and for a moment, he simply sat there, savoring the calm before he, too, would make his way back.
