"Don't sleep." Adhira tapped his cheeks,
her gaze darting to the clock on the wall.

Five minutes left. She had been counting the minutes from past an hour, excitement bubbling beneath her calm exterior.

She refused to let him drift off, her fingers continuously brushing through his hair to keep him awake.

Vikram, holding her close, could feel the restlessness in her. He knew she had some-thing planned, it was written in her eyes.

But he played along, feigning ignorance. The last thing he wanted was to ruin her surprise.

Although he had never really been fond of celebrating his birthday, but this time felt
different. Watching her excitement and knowing she had something planned for him made him feel contented.

After his childhood, for the first time, he found himself looking forward to it—just because she was the one making it special.

"Nahi soo raha, maata." He chuckled as he nuzzled his nose into the curve of her neck.

As the clock struck 11:59, she straightened, her heart pounding in her chest. And when the clock hit twelve, she grabbed his face and without any hesitation smacked her lips against his.

Vikram couldn't help the smile that crept onto his lips mid-kiss. Before she could pull away, he tightened his hold, drawing her even closer as he deepened the kiss.

A soft moan escaped her lips as he gave a squeeze to her hip, his fingers digging in her skin. When she patted his chest to signal him to stop, he reluctantly broke the kiss, their breaths mingling as they parted.

A smile spread across her lips, wide and full of love as she met his gaze, still holding his face in her hand and whispered softly.

"Happy Birthday Husband."

"Thank you, Wifey." He pressed a kiss on her cheek.

"Chalo," Adhira said, standing up from the bed and walking over to him. She reached for his hand and gave him a tug.

"Chalo ji," He chuckled, allowing her to take the lead. They moved downstairs quietly, to one of the rooms on the ground floor, the one she had used earlier for the decoration.

Adhira stopped in front of the door and looked up at him with a smile. "Open it."

Vikram looked at her for a minute, his brows furrowing before he pushed the door open, and stepped in.

As soon as he did, the room was filled with the chorus of "Happy Birthday!" Everyone was gathered together, clapping and cheering for him.

"Thanks everyone." His face softened in a smile, as one by one everyone embraces him, their hugs quick but full of love.

"Mera sabse pyaara beta." Saanvika cooed, pulling him into a warm hug and pressing
a quick kiss to his forehead.

"You said the same thing on my birthday, Choti Maa, not fair." Veer said, feigning offence, that earned a round of chuckles from everyone.

Vikram's smile deepened, his gaze shifting toward the doorway just as Adhira entered the room with a small cake, with a single candle flickering on it.

As she set the cake on the table, Sky trotted over, his curious eyes glued to the dessert.

Before he could make any move, Adhira bent down and scooped him up in her arms and stepped back.
