"We'll get late, Vikram." Adhira called out for the fifth time, smoothing the pleats of her saree at her waist.

A groan came from the bed. He turned onto his stomach, burying his face more into the pillow, tugging the comforter over his head to block out the lights.

"Vikrammm!" She warned, yanking the comforter away.

"Uth gaya." He sat up instantly, blinking away the remnants of sleep as his fingers rubbed at his tired eyes.

She exhaled, shaking her head, and turned back to the dressing table to finish her make up. "Maine kapde nikaal diye hain. Jaldi ready ho jaiye."

He stretched lazily before getting off the bed and moving towards her. Instead of heading to the bathroom, he wrapped his arms around her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder.

"I'm not wearing the kurta." He mumbled, his nose nuzzling against her neck.

Adhira set down the bottle of concealer, turning in his embrace. "Kyun?" She ran her fingers through his hair, her other hand stroking his back. "Acha tog lagta hai aap par."

"Mann nahi hai." He muttered, his hands tracing the curves of her waist.

"Theek hai," She sighed, tilting her head to meet his drowsy eyes.

"Shirt nikaal deti hoon." She relented, brushing her thumb across his cheek.

He hummed in response and rested his forehead against hers, closing his eyes.

With a soft smile, she pressed the back of her hand to his neck, checking for a fever.

Normal.

"It's just cold, baba," She chuckled before pressing a fleeting kiss to the tip of his nose. "Aap ready ho jaiye, main chai bana kar laati hoon."

"Paratha bhi." He added, reaching for his towel from the chair.

She laughed softly at his childish tone, shaking her head. "Haan, paratha bhi."

With that, she quickly got ready with the minimal makeup and hurried downstairs.

"Good morning, Maa." Adhira greeted as she stepped into the kitchen, noticing Saanvika already preparing the tea.

Saanvika turned slightly, offering a warm smile. "Good morning. You look beautiful."

"Thank you." A small, shy smile crept onto Adhira's face as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

She moved toward the counter, taking out the utensil and started to knead the dough.

"Won't Vikram have sandwiches?" Saanvika asked, placing bread into the griller.

"He's asking for paratha." Adhira said with a small shake of her head, glancing over her shoulder.

Saanvika chuckled knowingly as she turned off smiled the stove. "He acts like a child when he's sick— needy and cranky."

"Baat bhi nahi maante," Adhira said, rolling out small portions of the dough. "He knows cold drinks doesn't suit him but fir bhi he'll add ice cubes in his glass."
