"Vikrammm."

"I love it when you call me by my name."

"Please, stop."

"Shh, quite."

"Let go, please."

"Just five minutes more."

"Fuck." Adhira hastily turned off the gas, the hiss of the burner dying as she blew on the bubbling pan to prevent the tea from spilling over.

"Will you leave or not?" She snapped, turning around to face her husband.

Her eyes flashed with irritation as she shot him a glare, firmly removing his hands from her waist.

His expression turned into a pout. "Can't I just hug my wife for a while?" he grumbled.

She sighed, "No, go and wait at the dining table," she instructed, her voice carrying a no-nonsense tone. "I'll get your breakfast."

He reluctantly let go, mumbling under his breath as he shuffled towards the dining table. "Raat ko Changu, Subah Changu ki maa."

Adhira watched him for a moment, as a small smile tugged at her lips despite her stern demeanour.

He had been grumpy since last night, after their intimate moment was interrupted by the little new member.

Getting his breakfast ready, she plated it on a tray, ensuring everything was right, before walking out of the kitchen.

Just as she set the tray on the dining table, she noticed Changu, curled up near his feet.

Who sensing her presence, instantly stood up on its tiny feet and began trailing around her legs. "Hi baby," Adhira reached down to lift him into her arms, before pulling a chair for herself.

Vikram glanced up from his plate, his eyes softening as he watched the interaction, but there was a glint of jealousy too in them at the mention of baby. He feared that Changu was going to take over his place in her life.

"Why are you behaving like a grumpy old man again?" She looked up at him, meeting
his eyes.

His expression remained sullen, his eyes drifting back to his plate. "Because I always behave like one," he muttered, taking a bite of his protein sandwich.

"Arey," her voice laced with confusion as she stared at him. She couldn't understand what was wrong. He was acting weird.

"What's wrong?" She reached out to place her hand on his thigh, adjusting Changu
on her lap.

He shrugged, taking another bite, chewing slowly. The week spent together had drawn him closer to her than he had anticipated. He had grown attached.

And now, the thought of returning to the routine of office life felt heavy. He didn't want to leave her, but he didn't have a choice either.

He raised his eyes up at her, his expression guarded. She was busy stroking Changu on his head. He didn't know why but there was this feeling where he couldn't help but feel he had been the one making all the efforts to spend time together.

It was him all the time, finding little ways to be close to her. Didn't she feel the same way as him? Was he the only one falling here? His heart ached with the possibility.
