After dinner, Adhira helped Saanvika in clearing the table and washing the dishes.
Adhira found her Choti Maa's helpful nature truly admirable, she was always willing to assist, no matter how small the task was."So, how are you finding your new home?" Saanvika inquired turning towards Adhira.
"I'm still adjusting to everything, but everyone has been really kind to me." She responded softly.
"And what about Vikram?" The corners of Saanvika's mouth twitching upwards.
"He's been nice and kind as well." Adhira replied gazing down at her feet.
Saanvika chuckled noticing how shy Adhira was at the mention of Vikram's name. "You two should spend more time together, and get to know each other better."
"Um, y-yes." Adhira stammered feeling nervous all of a sudden.
"I just want to make sure that you feel at home here," Saanvika smiled as she turned off the gas after the milk had boiled.
"Aur, agar tumhe kabhi bhi, kisi bhi cheez ki zarurat ho, toh kisi se bhi keh dena, bina jhijhak." She said, now pouring the milk into the glass.
[And if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask anyone, without any hesitation]
"Ji." Adhira nodded.
"Let me give you a little advice, Vikram can be a bit reserved at times, but don't let that fool you. Sometimes he needs a little push to open up and share his feelings. Just make sure to give him that little push when needed."
Saanvika told, patting Adhira's hand, who responded with a nod of acknowledgment.
"Give this milk to Vikram, it will help him sleep better." She held the glass out in Adhira's direction.
On the other hand, Vikram plopped down on the bed, putting his phone on charge, still trying to shake off the cringe, embarrassing moment from the dinner table. His not-so-adorable nickname had been unveiled to his wife.
He couldn't help but feel exposed listening to his wife's giggles. She appeared to be enjoying the moment, laughing straight for a whole minute right on his face.
Maa, you could have given me a better nickname
Whenever someone calls him by the name his mother gave him, he's reminded of her. She named him 'Golu' because he used to be a chubby kid. The name brings back a flood of memories – memories of a simpler time when life was carefree and full of joy.
He couldn't help but reminisce all the good times he had associated with that name. It was funny how something as simple as a name had such a powerful effect on his emotions.
As he heard the door open, he shifted his focus towards it and noticed his wife stepping into the room, locking the door behind her.
Making her way to the bed, Adhira handed him a glass of milk, asking him to have it warm while trying her best to suppress her laughter.
A twenty seven year old man, almost double her size, who behaves like a grumpy old man-most of the times, seemed to have a nickname, Golu.
The name completely opposite of his personality. The irony!
"What's so funny ?" Vikram asked, raising his eyebrows in curiosity to know what she found amusing about handing him the glass of milk.
"Nothing." Adhira shook her head, turned around, and walked to the closet to take out her nightwear.
Vikram couldn't quite decipher the expressions on her face, his first instinct was to smell the milk to check if she had mixed something into it to prank him.
