*Hey guys. :) Chapters out early today because I'm free from school early. Might get a extra one tomorrow, depends on my schedule. Anyway, I really like this chapter, enjoy reading and I'll get another one out tomorrow. :)*

The next week was going pretty well, Nico had started spending time with the Waynes as actual family, Will had been Iris messaging him every night. He was actually happy.

That's how he knew his first day at school was going to be terrible.

It was Sunday now, his last day as a free man. He was kind of nervous. I know, stupid, he'd fought the literal earth and gone through Tartarus, yet he was nervous about going to high school?

But there was something about being forced to go into a building with people his own age that bothered him. When he was fighting the wars he barely had to talk to anyone, and when he did it was mainly people he already knew for battle tactics.

But at school he would have to socialize, actually talk to people whose main worry was probably what their crush thought about them or whether someone was going to ask them to the dance.

He didn't know, he'd never been to highschool. He truthfully had no idea how to relate to these people.

So to clear his mind that night, he went on a walk. So smart right? A walk in Gotham at night when only the street lights are on.

But somehow, no one tried to mug or attack him. At first, he thought it was just because he looked dangerous, he basically radiated death, then he noticed the other presence.

He turned around and saw the last god he wanted to see at the moment.

Thanatos had come to pay him a visit.

"What the heck are you doing here?" Nico snapped at him, he knew that was probably stupid, but he wasn't in the mood for Death right now.

Thanatos just glared at him, stepping forward and grabbing the boy's face forcefully.

"She will die, don't try to stop it. It will show you the truth."

Then, after that ominous message, he faded back into the shadows.

"What the fuck."

Next time he saw those stupid old hags, he swore he would strangle them.

There was no way Nico could have gotten to sleep after his walk, so he went to Alfred and asked where the gym was. He'd assumed that if these people were vigilantes and saved people, they would probably have to stay in shape.

So he followed Alfred down to the 'batcave' where the family dressed up in stupid outfits and called themselves "Heros." He still couldn't believe Bruce could say that with a straight face. "I am Batman."

On the wall was an array of weapons, and Alfred explained that the mat in the middle could create a simulation just in case Nico wanted to practice fighting against different opponents.

Once Alfred left, Nico jumped on the mat. He didn't even bother trying to read the instructions, so he just pressed a few random buttons that looked right and went in.

As he shifted his ring into sword form the first opponent appeared, it reacted right when Nico hit it, but it's weapon just passed through him and made a buzzing sound.

Eventually he got back into the groove of it, it'd been a while since he'd trained. After he defeated the first opponent it doubled, then again, and again. Eventually he was surrounded in a crowd or enemies, every time he took one down another two took their place. It was a lot. But Nico actually felt free.
