Will's Pov

Nico had been basically attached at Will's hip for two days now. He'd refused to let go of him and even slept in Will's room, much to Bruce's displeasure, but nobody mentioned it. He'd get close to hysterical whenever they were apart for more than a few minutes.

Of course Will enjoyed it, he'd missed being able to actually touch and cuddle his boyfriend. But it made him feel guilty that he enjoyed it so much when Nico was obviously still in pain.

While they were cuddling Nico's body seemed to instinctively twitch away from him, trying to get away from the source of his pain. Will had seen it multiple times before in patients. But Nico denied denied denied.

On Monday night Nico and Will were curled up in the latters bed, when Nico suddenly started mumbling something in his sleep. Will leaned it to listen.

"It's all in your head. It doesn't actually hurt. You're just crazy. He's you're boyfriend, why would he hurt you. It's all in your head. It's all in your head."

Will felt tears gather in his eyes. He'd known that Nico was hurting, yet he'd just enjoyed his company. What type of boyfriend does that. He gently tried to pull himself away from the boy, but Nico held on tighter, like his life depended on being with Will.

Will cried as he gently picked Nico up in a blanket as not to touch him, and carried him to his own room. He set him down on his bed and left.

He didn't know how much longer he could take this.

Nico's Pov

Something was wrong.

That was Nico's first thought when he woke up. He felt to cold, isolated, depressed. Like someone had stripped him of his will to live.

He slowly opened his eyes, he'd actually gotten a good nights sleep there until the very end. He was expecting to still be in Will's room, the other boy maybe getting dressed or taking a shower, but he wasn't there.

He sat up and looked around his own room in confusion. Where was Will? Why was Nico in his own room?

He slowly got up, when he looked down he realized he was still in Will's hoodie. He managed to walk out to the door and look out into the hallway.

It looked around midnight. When he reached out and looked throughout the house for souls, trying to find Will, he was shocked at the scarcity. Only Hazel, Alfred, and Violet were in the house.

He walked out into the hallway and headed for Will's room. But when he knocked on the door there was no answer. He peaked into the room to see all of Will's stuff gone.

He hurried in and saw a note on the bed.

It was written in Ancient Greek so Nico could read it, yet it was still barely legible in Will's scrawly doctor handwriting.

I'm sorry Nico, I couldn't bear hurting you. Please stay away from me, just until this ends. Being together is just hurting us both. I wish there was another way, I'm sorry. I'm going to stay at camp. Please Iris message me in the morning, just so I know you're okay. We aren't over, just a break.

Nico stared at the note in shock. Was Will breaking up with him? Did his attempts to keep his from leaving just make him choose to leave?

He numbly walked out of the room, not knowing where he was going but he knew it was away from there.

Obviously, being a child of Hades always messed everything up. He was destined to be alone.

After a few minutes he stopped and looked around. He realized that he was in front of a tall grandfather clock.

He didn't know why he noticed it, but he saw something strange about the clock. After a moment he realized that the time was all out of wack. He checked the phone that he'd started carrying around for the proper time, then moved the hands.

He walked away from the clock, planning on shadow traveling to Camp Juniper and maybe talking to Reyna, when he suddenly sensed shadows below him. Normally there weren't many shadows underground, nothing for them to be cast on, but this was different. It was like there was a cavern under the Manor with lights on inside.

He remembered that the Waynes were technically the bat family, he'd been so caught up in his own drama that he'd forgotten about the fact that they were risking their lives every night to protect the city.

After gathering the little energy he had left, he shadow traveled down to the cavern. He looked around and saw what looked like a technology room. There were literal bats flying in the dark spaces in the ceiling and bright lights from all the computers.

He wandered around for a bit, not knowing what any of the devices where, when suddenly a device in the corner pinged.

JL: Superman. Initiating arrival protocol.

Nico immediately hid. He didn't know who was coming but he knew one thing, he shouldn't be seen by them.

A man walked out of the tube thing. He was wearing a tight blue outfit with underwear on the outside for some reason. It had a diamond on the chest that had a red S. He was also wearing a red cape.

He walked out of the tube and looked around. A moment later his eyes locked on Nico's hiding spot in the shadows. He stepped back trying to cover himself more but the man was looking directly at him, he'd been caught.

Right as the man took a step in his direction the machine beeped again.

JL: Batman. Initiating arrival protocol.

Bruce stepped out of the tube in his Batman costume and looked at the man.

"What's wrong?"

The man just glared at Nico and took another step, though he seemed hesitant.

"I think someones here, but I can't see their heat signature. It's like it's being blocked by the shadows or something."

Just as the man was about to come closer Bruce grabbed him.

"I think I know who it is. They shouldn't be a danger, though I don't know why they're in the bat cave."

He directed those last words at Nico and the boy shrunk, hiding himself deeper in the shadows.

The man cast his hiding spot a suspicious glance but Bruce continued talking, "We should finish this another time. Looks like I have business to attend to."

He nodded hesitantly and stepped back into the tube.

JL: Superman. Initiating departure protocol.

Bruce watched him go, then sighed and turned back towards Nico.

"What's wrong son?"

Nico hesitantly stepped out of the shadows. Bruce took off his batman mask and as soon as he saw his guardians concerned expression Nico surged forward and hugged him.

Bruce looked down at him in shock. They'd hugged maybe twice since Nico had been adopted, but he couldn't help himself. He really needed someone right then.

After a moment Bruce hugged him back. He comforted the boy when he broke down crying, then listening when he explained what had happened.

"Nico," Bruce pulled away from the boy to look him in the eyes, Nico could barely see straight through his tear filled eyes, "I think Will was just trying to do what was best for you. He might not have done it in the best way, but we've all been worried about you. You will get through this, I promise."

Nico had to stop himself from flinching when he heard the promise. He'd already suffered enough because of a broken promise. But he need it right then.

He hugged the man again.

"T-thank you dad." He whispered.
