Luciana's POV
I couldn't stop thinking about the night before with Kenan.it all happened so quickly. And now, sitting here next to Mikky and Valeria on the plane to Barcelona, I couldn't keep it inside any longer.
I glanced over at Valeria, who was busy scrolling through her phone, and Mikky, who was adjusting Miles's headphones. This was it. I had to tell them.
"Okay, so..." I whispered, leaning in so no one else could hear. "Something happened last night."
Both of them turned toward me, their eyes lighting up with curiosity.
Valeria raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean something happened?"
I bit my lip, glancing around to make sure no one was listening. "With you know," I muttered under my breath, the words barely audible.
Mikky's eyes widened, and Valeria's jaw dropped. "Wait, wait, wait," Valeria whispered, leaning in closer. "Are you saying what I think you're saying?"
I nodded, feeling my cheeks flush. "Yeah... I went to his apartment last night."
Mikky let out a soft gasp, covering her mouth. "Luciana!" she whispered, her tone a mix of disbelief and excitement. "You did not!"
I shrugged, trying to play it off. "I don't know, it just... happened. One minute we were talking, and the next..."
Valeria's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Girl, I knew it! You're glowing today, and now I know why!"
I couldn't help but laugh softly, feeling both embarrassed and relieved to finally be telling them. "It wasn't planned. I mean, I was so unsure about everything, but I just went with it."
"And?" Valeria asked, her voice still hushed but eager. "How was it?"
I glanced at Mikky, who was just as eager for details, and I sighed, leaning in closer. "It was... good. Really good. He's—"
"Hot as fuck," Valeria finished for me, giggling. "I could tell that just by looking at him. But, wait, what about Pedri?"
At the mention of Pedri, my smile faltered. "I know, I know," I whispered. "It's complicated. We've been getting closer again, and I don't know where this thing with Kenan leaves us."
Mikky gave me a sympathetic look. "You don't owe anyone an explanation, Luciana. You're single, you're allowed to figure things out."
Before I could respond, Valeria, caught up in the excitement of the conversation, blurted out a little too loudly, "But you hooked up with a Juventus player!"
I immediately shushed her, my eyes widening in panic. "Valeria!" I hissed. "Not so loud!"
But it was too late. Across the aisle, I saw Pedri stiffen in his seat. His head tilted slightly as if he had heard something that piqued his interest. I felt my stomach drop.
Valeria's hand flew to her mouth, her eyes wide with realization. "Oh my God," she whispered. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to—"
Pedri turned his head slightly toward us, his brow furrowed. Our eyes locked for a brief second, and I could see the question in his gaze. He had definitely heard Val.
I slumped in my seat, my heart racing. "This is bad," I muttered under my breath.
Valeria leaned in, her voice panicked but still quiet. "I didn't mean to! I'm sorry, I didn't think he could hear me."
Mikky glanced over at Pedri and back to me, her expression filled with concern. "You're going to have to talk to him about this. If he overheard, you don't want him getting the wrong idea."
I nodded, trying to calm my nerves. "Yeah, you're right. I'll talk to him when we land. But what do I even say?"
Valeria, still guilt-ridden, placed a hand on my arm. "Just be honest. It's not like you've been doing anything wrong. You're figuring things out."
I took a deep breath, knowing that talking to Pedri about this was going to be hard. Things had already been confusing enough between us, and now this? The last thing I wanted was to hurt him more than he already had been.
As the plane started its descent into Barcelona, I couldn't stop thinking about how I was going to approach him. Pedri was calm, composed, and kind, but I knew how protective he could be when it came to matters of the heart. He deserved honesty, even if it was awkward.
As soon as we landed, I saw him grab his bag and head off the plane, walking a little faster than usual. I exchanged a quick look with Valeria and Mikky, both of whom gave me encouraging nods.
"You've got this," Valeria said softly. "Just be upfront."
I nodded, taking another deep breath. "Okay. Wish me luck."
With that, I hurried after Pedri, catching up to him as he was about to walk out of the terminal. "Pedri, wait!" I called out, my voice shaky.
He stopped and turned around, his expression unreadable. "Luciana," he said, his voice steady, but I could see the tension in his eyes.
I took a step closer, trying to find the right words. "I need to explain something."
He crossed his arms, his jaw clenched. "You don't have to explain anything, Luciana. I heard what Valeria said."
"It's not what you think," I quickly said. "Yes, I saw Kenan last night, but it wasn't... it didn't mean anything. I'm still figuring things out, and I don't want you to think I'm playing games with you."
Pedri sighed, running a hand through his hair. "It's just... Luciana, we've been through so much, and I thought—"
"I know," I interrupted, my voice soft. "I thought so too. But I don't want to lie to you or keep things from you. I don't know what's going to happen between us, but I care about you."
He looked at me for a long moment, his expression softening slightly. "I just don't want to lose you again," he said quietly.
"You won't," I promised. "But I need time."
Pedri nodded, though I could still see the hurt and slight anger in his eyes. "Alright. I'll be here."
With that, he turned and walked away, leaving me standing there, feeling both relieved and heartbroken at the same time.
