ADARSH'S POV

Shashank's words kept echoing in my head after I got home. It hurt quite bad. You know why? Because it felt true. Because Shashank was a good man. And it was clear how much my existence in Kashvi's life hurt him.
God knows what's happening there. Have they broken up? Did he forgive her? Are they still getting married? Does she miss me? Or does she hate me after whatever Shashank said?

All of this, for what Adarsh? To sit in your bed, sulking about Kashvi? To think if he has gotten back together with Shashank? NoAdarsh! You came back to India to show her what she means to you. You have the green card given by her dad, tell her how you feel!

Its 6pm. I get up from my bed and head to Kashvi's house. God, It feels good to be out at 6pm and not consider it night unlike Bhutan!
I am wearing a cozy blue coloured hoodie. The colour makes me look good so Kashvi won't kill me on sight.

I knock at her door. I take a long breathe. She opens

"Kya chahiye?"

She said with a disinterested voice.

"Hello Adarsh, Hello Kashvi. What happened to all that?"

"Hello Adarsh"

"Hello Kashvi"

"Ab bolo"

"Baat karne aaya hu, andar nahi bulaogi?"

"Nahi. Kyun aaye ho Adarsh?"

"Aree yaar kala jadu kar diya hai tumne mujhpe! Tumhari taraf kheecha chala jaata hu. Tumhi ho woh jiske wajah se yeh Sterotype famous hai ki sab Bengali kala jadu karte hai"

I joked. Shouldn't have. She didn't respond with a laugh definitely.

"We always fight and the distance ourselves and hurts Kashvi."

"My fiancée broke up with me Because of you!"

"You are not a saint. You are to be blamed same as me."

She knew I was write, She didn't wanna admit it

"My point is, this is our pattern and We have break the pattern before the pattern breaks us up"

I saw that I was reaching the parts of her that wanted to listen to me

"Why should we do that?"

"Because Kashvi, If I loose you again, I am sure as hell will loose my mind."

"What's in it for me?"

"Because when I loose my mind, You always come and save me....thus the pattern"

"True that. But I am not interested. I'd rather save you again than have a civilization conversation with you because I don't think you are capable of a normal conversation. Either you fight or fuck or kiss...."

Her tone was soo plain. More plain than the plainest food in the world. She stands at the door with her handscrossed
The way she underestimates me. I know the exact words. Because they come from deepest corners of my heart

I took a deep breathe

"Paanch saal pehle tumne mujhe issi jagah, tumhare doorstep pe promise kiya tha ki paanch saal baad agar main tumhare darwaje par dastak du aur kahu ki mujhe tumhari jarurat hai, toh tum apna sab kuch chod kar, mujhe apni baho mein le logi"

She uncrossed her hands.

"Mujhe tumhari jarurat hai Kashvi"

I say as a tear drops from my eye. Kashvi's holds my hoodie and pulls me inside the house and takes me in her arms. I can hear her muffing her sobs.
Warmth spreads as she wraps her arms around me. Hearts beat in unison, pounding with affection.
I break the hug but we are sitting holding each other.
