A/N- a long chapter to make up for my absence ✔️

Maddison's POV
_____________
I would say i have never been a loquacious kid.

In fact a lot of the time i am silent, which is why my mouth stayed tightly sealed when the police woman approached me and then the reason why it stayed that way when she knelt beside me and began quietly asking me questions with a soft warm tone.

She was kind and gentle with me, picking me up after coming to the realisation i was not cooperating and lifting my limp and beat body into the back of the police car while the man in the front seat drove us to the hospital, comforting small talk being the only thing filling my forlorn mind beside the constant ringing in my ears.

She told me I didn't need to worry, that the people who did this to me were being dealt with, i already knew that, In fact i had seen it with my own eyes while they were dragged, hands cuffed behind there backs as they screamed profanities in anger towards me claiming innocence.

Phoebe was taken by another police woman to somewhere i do not want or care to know.

For once she seemed nervous a new sense of consternation that she had never had to experience before.

She spared one glance towards me before she left, her eyes glazed with tears of confusion and sadness that made a deep part of my stomach turn.

She's not my sister, i understand that now. She never was and she never will be but i grew up thinking the opposite.

She was the older of the two of us and the one i looked up to, not only because of the difference in the way we were treated and raised but because I knew that she is the way she is because thats what she has been taught her whole life.

How i had been taught to be quiet and stay hidden and small wherever i could, to retract when a man raises their voice and to cause no problems she had been taught to be a bully just like her parents.

The car ride to the hospital passed by too quickly and by the time i could notice the big white building ahead, the nice police woman slotted me back into her arms and began walking us inside.

It wasn't the same hospital that my real mommy Taylor had taken me too when that mean old doctor called me skinny but i knew that it was most likely that we weren't in the same place because we had driven for a while to get to the motel earlier that day.

___
I was placed on a hospital bed as the police man from the car sat beside me awkwardly waiting for the nice woman whom i had learned was Officer Lauren to return with some paperwork.

I was getting a scan for my stomach and also another one for my head because my ribs were hurting from where i was kicked in the stomach earlier and that same annoying ringing in my ears was still there.

The doctor told them the reason i wasn't talking was because of my ears and that there was a chance i couldn't hear right now but that wasn't true.

The reason I wasn't talking was because i wanted my mummy and she wasn't coming, i left her at the park and now she isn't here.

I always ruin good things thats what everyone told me, thats why i never get anything good and that's why i ruined this too.

I bet she wishes she wasn't my mummy now, if she had chosen a better behaved girl then they would be having a perfect life like Mila and her mummy right now.
