Taylors POV
_________

We decide to keep Maddie backstage with Blake after the whole incident.

Allowing them to just watch the concert from the tv in my dressing room to make her feel more comfortable, and let her be surrounded by people she recognises and in a space she has deemed as safe.

Blake was overly apologetic about the whole thing, blaming herself, even after i tried to explain it wasn't her fault, i think she feels responsible for Maddie's panic attack because she was the one who instructed the man to pick her up, but for now she is just soaking up time with the clingy toddler Maddie has became tonight.

___

After the concert finished i rush backstage walking down towards my room with sweat still dripping from my forehead.

All i want is a shower my bed and Maddie.

Tree is walking on my left, her heels clicking against the floor as she hands me my phone back finally after confiscating it hours ago, i shoot Mom a message letting her know what happened tonight, my mom is the only person i feel comfortable enough to call with my problems and just cry if thats what i need. She understands the situation with Maddie and knowing if i need to vent when she is asleep if reassuring.

'thank you' i mutter, my voice croaky from singing, receiving a gentle nod in response from the red head.
——

When we finally arrive at my room, Maddie is sat curled up into Blakes side, resting her head on her shoulder, her eyes are slowly drooping shut every few seconds and her blonde curls are all messy.

She doesn't seem to notice me enter the room at first so i take the opportunity to have a quick shower so that i don't have to leave her when she does notice i am here and when she wants to curl up on my lap i wont be getting her all dirty with my sweaty after concert look.

___

My normal clothes finally on, my body clean and my hair tied up into a pony tail above my head, i leave the bathroom and head to the couch stretching my arms out and scooping my girl into my arms.

"Hey sleepy girl." I coo running a finger up and down her nose as i slightly pat her bottom every few seconds her diaper rustling slightly at the movement.

"Tay" she whispers tiredly, her words barely coming out in more than a breath.

I smile and rock us gently as Blake watches the small intimate moment from the other side of the couch with a loving smirk.

"we best go so i can get her into bed." I suggest standing up and gathering my stuff, trying to juggle them all as well as a sleepy Maddie.

Tree helps by grabbing the 2 bags i couldn't manage and follows me around the room.

"you were great Tay i love you, keep me updated with her okay?" Blake says giving me a side hug as not to bother Mads.

"Love you to Blake and don't worry i will."
I reply kissing her cheek before she turns around and leaves, giving a small wave before she disappears down the hall.

We follow not long after, heading behind the stadium to where my driver waits to take us back to our hotel.

Maddie is silently fighting sleep which i notice instantly as she forces her eyes open and shifts in my arms a couple of times making me stifle a small laugh of amusement.

"you can go to sleep baby girl." I say smiling down at her as she watches me intently.

Giving no vocal response she nods and only milliseconds after her eyelids flutter shut and her hand resting on my chest falters in her sleepy haze.

Bouncing slightly in my step to rock her as i walk towards the car, i dig her head as far into me as i can to hide her face from any cameras that may catch us as we leave.

A fee small flashes come our way but before they can wake her up with there stupid questions i throw us into the car.

"hi Greg." i greet quietly as i take a seat in the back, Maddie still in my lap as we have no car seat for her yet.

The seat belt secures over both of us, forcing her to be as close to me as possible and her little baby snores fill the silence in a comforting way.

I sigh in content and watch through the car window as we drive back to the hotel, finally finding peace in the small silent moments.

____

When we get back to our room, Maddie is still sound asleep so i change myself into some pyjamas and grab a pair that arrived today to change the toddler into.

It's a white footed onesie with pink blossoms patterned on and to say it is adorable is an understatement.

Her little body flops around as i remove her clothes and peep inside her diaper just to check, but she seems to still be dry which is great so i just continue to change her and gently brush through her hair to untangle any knots.

___

Finally in the safety of my own bed, the light weight and warmth of a sleeping Maddie on my chest and the consoling smell of her baby scent fills me with peace allowing me to fall into my own worry less sleep.
