• Renae's POV •

I look at the clock, 2:08 am. I was actually tired and I was bored since my family wasn't home. They had all went to Phoenix but I couldn't go because I was grounded. I put my phone to charge and turned off my lights. My phone starts to vibrate and I unplug it from the charger. The coller i.d was blocked. "Goodnight, make sure I can't get in your house" the unknown voice said. "Who is this?" I ask into the reciever, but the caller hung up with no answer for my question. I began to wonder who it was that called me. I assumed that it was probably one of my guy friends prank calling me but then I thought again, I didn't tell anyone I was going to bed. What the hell.

I look out my balcony glass door expecting to find someone standing there. No one. I sat at my desk and thought. Thought of what I was supposed to do next. I wasn't even tired anymore. I unlocked my phone and texted back my friend Vanessa. She texted back right away.

"That is so creepy...do you want me to go over so you wont feel paranoid?"

"no its ok, i'll be fine" I text back.

I would invite her over but my parents didn't want anyone over. Then again, when do I listen to them. I put my phone down and lay on my bed closing my eyes. As I was dozing off my phone vibrates. Expecting for it to be Vanessa, but it wasn't.

"Why wont you open the door for me?"

I swallow the nerve as I read the message. I text Vanessa to come over because I was not going to stay home alone like this.

The doorbell rings and I walk out of my room, down the stairs and to the front door. "Hey!" Vanessa says as I open the door. "Hi" I say and close the door behind her quickly. "Uhm, I think I saw a car parked in front of your house when I was walking up to your door" Vanessa says. I give her a weird look and look out the window. I see the car parked in front of my house making me feel even more nervous. My phone vibrates and both Vanessa and I look at each other. The message again was from the blocked i.d.

"Don't look for me when you are the one hiding" I read aloud to Vanessa.

We stare at each other in disbelief. "We aren't even hiding!" Vanessa says. "Maybe we need to hide" I say looking at her with a serious face.
