chapter 41

• Renae's POV •

"When did you get here?" my dad asks as he walks into the room. "Not too long ago" I say. "Oh.." He says and looks around my room. "Hey dad..are you leaving...like leaving home?" I ask as I sit on my bed. He clears his throat and sits next to me. "Your mother and I have both decided that we are no longer going to be together" he says and looks at me. "What about Sofia? And Ethan?" I ask furrowing my eyebrows. "Your brother and sister will be staying with your mom just like you" he says. "Where are you going to be staying?" I ask. "With my girlfriend Tanya" he says as he clears his throat. "Girlfriend?" I say as I get up. "Its complicated" he begins to say but I cut him off. "Enough, you can leave now" I say. "Renae, please forgive me. I dont want to loose our relationship" He says as he starts to choke up. "Its already been lost" I say and close the door behind him. I open the balcony door and let Zayn in. "Hey are you okay?" Zayn asks closing the door behind him. I shake my head, "I dont know, I dont know" I say and burry my head into his shoulders. He hugs me tight and kisses me on the forehead. "It'll be okay, trust me" he whispers in my ear. I continue crying, letting my tears soak into his gray t-shirt.

"Do you want to order pizza?" Zayn asks as he massages my back. "Yeah" I say and turn around facing him. He pulls me closer to where our bodies are touching and gives me a soft kiss. I kiss back but pull away and smile. "Okay, what kind of pizza do you want?" He asks as he gets up from the bed. "Pepperoni and pineapple" I say. "Half and half?" he asks. "Yeah" I say and sit up. "Where are you ordering from?" I ask. "Dominos" he says as he walks out onto the balcony with the phone to his ear. I get up from the bed and walk out of my room to see my brother walk out of his room. "Where's mom?" he asks. "Im not sure, I was going to ask the same thing" I say and look around the hallway. We both stare down the stairs as if waiting for her to magically appear. Ethan walks past me and goes down the stairs. I turn around and go back to my room locking the door behind me. "Did you order anything to drink?" I ask Zayn. "Yeah, pepsi" he says and nodds his head. He makes his way to my bookshelf and stands there. "I didnt realize you were a reader" He says and looks at me with a smirk. "Well kind of" I say and chuckle. He lets out a small laugh and makes his way toward me. "What are you doing?" I ask smiling. "Nothing" he says and chuckles. "Does your mom know Im here?" he asks looking at the door. "No" I say. He nods and opens the door. "What are you doing?!" I ask grabbing his bicep. "Im going to go say hi to your mother" he says and walks out of my room. I follow as he goes down the stairs, past the dining room and into the kitchen.

"Hi Ms...." he looks at me with a questioning look. "Its Collin now, but just call me Susan, Zayn" she says and smiles. "Okay" Zayn says. "When did you get here? I didnt even see you come in" my mom says as she washes some dishes. "Oh I came in through Renae's balcony" he tells her and sits down on a chair. My mom chuckles and shakes her head. "Zayn you know you can just enter through the front" she says. "Yeah I know, I just like to scare Renae" he says and looks at me. I roll my eyes and smile. The doorbell rings and Zayn gets up from his seat and walks to the front door. "Whos that?" my mom asks me as she turns off the faucet. "Pizza" I say. "Oh" my mom says and turns off the kitchen lights. "Are you and Zayn.." my begins. "Talking? I think so" I finish off. She nods her head and smiles. "I'll be in my room" She says and walks upstairs.

• Zayn's POV •

"I'll get the cups and the napkins and you can go to my room and wait if you want" Renae tells me as she starts walking to the kitchen. "Okay" I say and walk upstairs and to her room. I set the pizza and soda on her desk and close the balcony curtains. I look around wondering where she would put her matches. I open one of the drawers in her desk and toss things around looking for matches. I open the next drawer and and find the matches. I turn on her christmas lights that border around her walls and light the candles in her room. I put the matches away and set the pizza on the floor as well as the soda. The door opens and Renae walks in with napkins, cups and a picnic blanket. "Sorry if I took long, I had to go to the basement to get this blanket" she says and sets the blanket over the wood flooring. "Its fine, you gave me enough time to find your matches and light your candles" I say and pour soda into the cups. "I noticed" she says and smirks as she opens the pizza box. "Finally!" She says taking a bite out of her pizza. I laugh and look at her. "Stop, don't stare at me when I eat, ever" she tells me. "Why?" I ask letting out a laugh. "I don't like eating in front of guys that I like" She says taking a drink of her soda. "So you like me?" I ask smirking. Her eyes widen and she stays quiet. "I like you too" I say casually and take a bite out of my pizza. She laughs as she gets up. "I'll be right back" She says and exits the room. I finish my pizza and grab another piece. I check my phone and see that its 11:18, but I really dont care so I just put my phone back in my pocket. Renae comes in the room with two more cups and a bottle of wine. "Woah, where'd you get that?!" I ask with a smile. "The wine cellar" she says and pours the wine into the cups. "You guys have a wine cellar?" I ask, taking a cup from her hand. "Yeah" Renae says and chuckles. "What else do you guys have that I dont know about?!" I ask and chuckle as I take a drink. "Well an office, pool, back garage" she starts saying. "A pool?" I ask. "Yeah" she says and takes another drink. "Why havent you had a party here yet?" I ask. "Because I dont want to worry about anything" she says. "Smart" I say and take another bite.

"Okay well Im gonna get going" I say as we walk up the basement stairs. "Okay" She says and closes the door behind her. "I'll see you tomorrow? At Niall's party" I say walking past the kitchen. "If I can go" She says opening the front door for me. "You'll go, you have to" I say and laugh. "Okay well" She says and smiles. "Alright well, bye" I say and lean in as I give her a soft kiss. I walk out the door and see Gavin waiting by my car. You have to be kidding me.
