chapter 37

•Renae's POV•

I wake up and look around as I realize I'm at the hospital. I'm pretty confused since all I really remember was something slamming into me.

The door opens and Zayn walks in. "Hey.." he says and grins. "Hi" I say and look down. "How are you feeling?" he asks. "I'm good" I say and smile. "I bought you Starbucks and Trolli worms, your favorites" he says and chuckles. "Thanks" I say and take the items from his hand. "How did you know these were my favorite?" I ask. "I asked Ginnet" he says and smiles as he sits down next to me. I turn and look at him as we make eye contact. "Am I going to be okay?" I ask as my tears form. "I think so..." he says and grabs ahold of my hand. "What happened?" I ask. "You were in a car accident" he says and tightens his grip. "I'm okay right?" I ask losing my breath. "Yeah, yeah your fine" he tells me and massages my hand in his. "Zayn! Zayn! I can't breathe! I can't, I can-"

•Liam's POV•

I began hitting a punching bag when my phone begins to ring. I take off my gloves and answer. "Hello?" I speak into the receiver. "Hey, Liam it's Ginnet.." she answers. "Oh hey, why are you calling through Renae's phone?" I ask furrowing my eyebrows. "Renae got in a car accident and she's here at the Tucson hospital" she says with her breath shaky. "What?!" I say as I exit the building and get into my car. "I'm serious" she says and I can hear her tears forming. "Is she okay?!" I ask driving out of the parking lot. "She's in critical condition right now" she tells me as he voice cracks. "I'm on my way!" I say and hang up as I drive to the hospital.

•Zayn's POV•

"Renae?! Renae!" I say as I try to wake up Renae. My breath is shaky and I don't know what to do. I need to get help but I don't want to leave her here. I walk towards the door and look down the hallway. "Uh excuse me! Excuse me!!" I say to a nurse passing by. "I'm sorry can I help you?" she asks with a concerned tone. "Yeah, I don't think she's breathing" I say biting my lip. A terrified look washes over her face as she walks into the room and examines Renae. She walks toward the room telephone and dials a number. "Yes, I need a doctor and help to come down to room 515, we have a 1029 code" she's says and hangs up. "Okay I'm sorry but you have to go!" she says as she begins to feel Renae's heart beat. "Is she going to be okay?!" I ask feeling a knot in my throat. "I can't make any promises" she's says.

Doctors and nurses fill the room as I leave. I look at the Starbucks and trolli worms on the side table. I swallow the knot in my throat and walk down the hallway passing everyone. "Zayn! What happened in there?!" Renae's mom asks stopping me in my tracks. "She either had an asthma attack or she stopped breathing, I don't know but she's be okay" I say looking at her in the eye. Tears form in her eyes as she nods and licks her lips. I turn away and walk down the flight of stairs and exit the building walking towards my car. "Zayn!" I hear from behind me and turn around. It's Liam. "What?" I ask looking at him. "What room is Renae in?" he asks with a concerned tone and look on his face. "She isn't seeing anyone right now but you have to sign in first, and 515" I say and start to continue walking to my car. I get in my car and begin to drive to Sierra Vista. I dial Gavin's number on my phone and wait for him to answer. "What's up?" he answers. "Meet me at the Sierra Vista Mall Food Court!" I say. "That's an hour away from where I am!" he says with an annoyed tone. "Well then get there in an hour!" I say and roll my eyes as I hang up.

•Louis' POV•

"Who was that? I ask as Gavin put down his phone. "Zayn" he says and rolls his eyes. "What did he want?" I ask rolling my eyes. "Told me to meet him at the Sierra Vista mall" he says as he's getting up. "What?!" I says with a confused look. "Exactly" he says and starts to get up. "I'll go with you" I say and walk to the truck as I open the passenger seat and get in. Gavin gets in and starts the truck idolizing for a moment. "Will you just drive?!" I say and roll my eyes. "Alright, Alright!" he says and chuckles as he rolls his eyes. We then start to head out to Sierra Vista.

We drive into the mall parking lot and park the car. "Alright, let's go" Gavin says and gets out of the car. I open the door and get out. I see Zayn sitting on the bench smoking a cigarette staring straight at us. I could already feel the tension.

•Zayn's POV•

I get up from the bench and walk towards Gavin...and Louis. "So what's so important that you made up drive an hour to talk to you?" Louis speaks as his hands are in his back pocket. "Shut the hell up! I came here to talk to Gavin, not you" I say starting at him. Gavin looks at me as if waiting for me to talk. "Why?!" I say. "Why what?" Gavin asks with a confused look. "I know you set this up! I know you set the accident up!" I say as my voice begans to crack. "Aw I'm so sorry, I didn't know it would effect you" he says with a puppy face patting me on the shoulder. "You'll be fine Zayn. Do you need me to kiss your boo-boo?" he continues. "Get the hell away from me and Renae!" I say and bring my fist up to his face. He covers it with his hands groaning in pain. "What the hell?! I won't ever let go of Renae! And hell I wouldn't care if you died!" Gavin says and walks away. Tears start to form, I don't want to let them out but I do. My phone vibrates and I see that it's Ginnet. I dread to answer but I have no choice. "Yeah?" I answer into the phone
