chapter 5

• Renae's POV •

"Do you want a ride home?" I ask Vanessa. "Sure, it doesn't matter" she says. We both get into my car and drive back to my house.

I kept looking back at the rear view mirrors expecting for something go happen. The ride was quiet the whole time until I pulled up into my drive way. "I'm gonna go get my stuff and I'll be back?" Vanessa says and gets out of my car. I give her the keys to my house and wait inside my car. A few minutes later Vanessa comes out of my house and into my car. I back out of my drive way and drive Vanessa home.

"So have you learned your lesson?" my mom questions me as my dad looks at me with his arms crossed. "Yes I did" I say. "Alright you're ungrounded" she says and starts to walk out of my room. "Wait mom!" I stop her in her tracks. "Yeah?" she answers and turns around facing me. "Jenny asked if I wanted to sleep over..can I?" I ask. "Ask dad" she says and walks away. How did I know she was going to say that. I turn to my dad and look at him. "Well yeah I guess" he says and walks out. Yay. I text Jenny and get my things ready.

I finish putting my makeup on and put my hair in a pony tail. My phone vibrates and I unlock it.

"Do you want me to pick you up??"

I read from Jenny. I text back and make sure I have everything packed.

"I'm here c:"

Jenny texts me. I grab my two bags and lock my room. I say bye to my parents and I'm out the door.

I walk over to Jenny's car and get in. "Sorry if I took so long" I tell her. "Your fine" Jenny says as she starts up the car. Jenny pulls out of my drive way and makes her way to her house. When we get there Jenny's sister is washing her car. We get out and run to Jenny's front door trying not to get wet. Jenny opens the door and we both step in. Jenny looks around as if looking for something. "Oh! By the way! Me and my sister are the only ones here. My mom went out of town" Jenny tells me. "Oh that's fine" I say. "Follow me" Jenny says as she walks down the hallway to her room.

As I follow Jenny to her room I happen to look out the window in the hallway that looked out to Jenny's front yard. I look away as fast as I can and grab Jenny's arm. "What are you doing?!" Jenny asks. "Look out the window...now!" I tell her. Jenny looks out the window with a confused face. A black BMW was outside Jenny's house parked on the curb. "It's just a car" Jenny says. "The car doesn't matter, it's the person that's inside the car!" I tell Jenny. Jenny looks at me with a confused look, but realizes what I was talking about.
