chapter 24

"Wait Zayn!" I say as I run up to him grabbing his shoulder. "WHAT?!" He shouted as he turned around, his jaw clenched and the vein on his neck visible. "That's not why I want you away from me" I say feeling the knot in my throat. "Then what is it?! Are you afraid I'm going to hurt you? Because I'm NOT!" Zayn says raising his voice. I had nothing to say, I was speechless. "Well?!" Zayn continues. "That's not the reason Zayn...I was just mad and frustrated I wasn't thinking" I say feeling a tear go down my cheek. "So you don't want me to stay away from you? What are you trying to say" Zayn asks as he looks down at the crowd dancing. "To be honest Zayn I don't even know!" I say and push my way around him. I walk down the stairs and make my way towards the sliding door. I was into the house and feel eyes on me. I ignore it and walk straight to the bathroom not even looking at where I was going.

"Watch where you're going!" I hear Louis's familiar voice. "Go away!" I yell and push him to the side. "Woah are you crying?!" he questions surprisingly. "I said leave me ALONE" I raise my voice and start to walk away but he grabs my wrist and turns me towards him. "Are you okay?" he asks with his voice softening. "Don't play with me like that! Don't even think that I'll fall for your stupid games! We all know you don't give a crap about me!" I say and lose his grip on my wrist as I turn away and run to the bathroom. I knock on the door and Harry comes out. GREAT! I didn't want that many people to see me! "Are you alright!?" Harry asks looking concerned. "I'm fine! I'm fine I just need some privacy" I say walking into the bathroom and closing the door. I lock it and sit down against the door. I feel sick like I want to throw up, so I get up and walk over to the toilet. Thank God I went to the toilet because then.....

•Zayn's POV•

I make my way throw the crowd in the house looking for Renae. "Have you seen a girl about 5'2", long wavy brunette hair, she was probably crying?" I had asked almost everyone! That's when it hit me that she was most likely was in the bathroom. That's where every girl was when they were all sad or needed privacy. Ginnet had 3 bathrooms though...ugh. I run to the one in the hallway knocking on the door. "What?" I hear Renae's weak voice through the door. "Renae..its Zayn. Please let me in" I say leaning my head against the door. The door opens enough for me to walk in. "What?" she says as she closes the door behind me. "Renae please I'm sorry! I don't even know what I did!" I plead to Renae closing the space between us. "I listened to Louis that's what I did! You figure the rest out" she says walking to the toilet and sitting down on it. "Are you really going to believe him?!" I ask walking to her again. "It's true what he said though!" Renae says looking down at the floor. I bite my lips no knowing what to say. "Look, I know in the past I did some pretty stupid things and to this day I'm still stupid but the things that happened in the past are the past. I would wish you forget about everything but of course you can't and I understand that! I know, I know things are still going on but please just forgive me Renae. If something will stop it'll be me and Louis will quit sometime! Renae...I really like you" I say suprised with what I'm saying. I hand out my hand waiting for her to take it. "You aren't getting off that easy" she says and looks away. "I figured...dance with me" I say shaking my hand in my front of her. "In here?!" She asks with a confused look. "No! Come one! Follow Me!" I say with my hand still out. "I'm sorry Zayn but I'm sure Liam is still waiting for me on the balcony. Maybe Later!" she says and runs out of the bathroom. A little girl then appears at the doorway looking at me. "Where you guys kissing in there?! The little girl asks curiously. "Um no we were just having a conversation" I say and walk outside trying to catch sight of Liam and Renae. Who even was that little girl anyways..Ginnet's sister? I don't know. I walk through the crowd and see Renae talking with Ginnet. I look around and see Niall, Harry and his girlfriend on the other side of the room talking. I walk towards them and stand next to Niall. "Where have you been all night?" Harry asks grinning. "Uh..I was busy" I say and smirk as I roll my eyes. "Do you want a drink?" Niall asks. "Sure, get me a Bud-light I guess" I say and look around. "You're so basic Zayn, but alright" Niall says and exits into the crowd making his way to the bar outside. Now it was awkward because I was pretty much the third wheel here. Jerusha and Harry making out while I'm here staring at Renae wondering what she was telling Ginnet. I turn and are Jerusha and Harry leaving the room into the living room area. Alright then. "Here you go man" I suddenly hear Niall as he hands me the beer. "Thanks" I say and open the can. I take a drink from my beer and notice that Ginnet and Renae had left. "Who are you looking for?" Niall asks looking at me as he takes a drink of his beer. "Ginnet and Renae" I say looking around trying to find them. "Oh Ginnet?! She's hot." He says and smirks as he takes another drink. "But I'm looking for Renae" I say. "I'll be back" I finish and walk to where Ginnet and Renae were standing. I then see Ginnet and her sister talking. "Ginnet!" I shout as I walk towards her. "What?!" she says and rolls her eyes. "Geesh! What am I doing wrong?!" I ask with a confused tone. "A LOT of things!" she says with an annoyed tone. "Where's Renae?" I ask. "She went to brush her teeth in my room but I don't-" I cut her off and start walking towards her room. I enter the hallway and look at all the closed doors. I go with my instincts and open the door in the left corner. Renae is sitting on Ginnet's bed staring into space. "Renae?" I ask as I walk towards her slowly. "Why are you here?" she asks turning to me. "I was looking for you" I say sitting next to her on the bed. I see her eye my can of beer. "Do you want some?" I ask handing her the bud light. "No thanks..I don't drink bud light" she answers back scooting farther from me. I scoot closer "Then what do you drink?" I ask with a smirk on my face. "Water" she says sarcastically. "I'll be back" I say and get up from the bed making my way out of the room and heading outside. I manage to walk through the crowd and get to the bar. "What can I get you?" The man asks with a weird smile. "Peach margarita" I say licking my lips. The man prepares the margarita fast and hands it to me. "Thanks" I say and walk away before he can answer. I was through the crowd and enter the house. I carefully walk through that crowd and make it in the hallway. I walk towards Ginnet's room and open it. Renae isn't there. She left the room. Great. I turn around and see the little girl staring at me again. "You're cute" she says and runs off. That was random. I was out of the hallway and walk through the crowd going outside. I see Renae with a couple of her friends. I walk towards her waiting for her to notice me. "Yes?" She asks looking at me as she cocked an eyebrow. "I got you a drink" I say and hand it to her. "What is it?" she asks trying to figure out what it is. "Peach margarita..its really good, try it!" I say as I look at her waiting for her to take a drink. "Should I trust you?" she asks looking at me seriously. "of course" I say and smile. She takes a drink from her margarita and looks at me "You know this is really-"

All the lights go off and nobody knows what's going on. "Zayn..what is going on?!" Renae asks grabbing into my arm. "I'm not sure just stay calm and-" Renae's touch leaves my arm and I see her heading up the balcony. "RENAE NO!" I say as I chase after her. "RENAE"
