Valerie was at a Coffee shop called 'Happy-ville' not far from her house which was managed by her childhood friend, Jace.
Jace was a good friend of hers they had been friends since they were children. Jace was already a graduate and was currently running this café with his father Mr Carlos, who also ran a pawn shop in another city 'Yellow Hills'.
Actually Mr Carlos has been running his pawn shop since they were in Yellow hills, before his family moved here and he established this coffee shop but he had to stay back at Yellow Hills to manage his pawn shop and only visited from time to time.
Valerie was sipping her coffee as she browsed through her phone. She had to leave soon, so she could start her job hunting.
"Hey Val''. She heard a male voice; she looked up to see Jace in front of her with a big smile. His bottle green eyes gleamed to his friend; he had brown hair and was clad in a yellow shirt coupled with a pair of jeans and a black apron.
"Jace!". Valerie smiled widely as she stood up and hugged him.
"It's so good to see you!". She exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear.
"I know right! You forgot about me, you stopped coming here and your number never went through. I couldn't come to your house because I was so busy here". Jace whined.
"That's not the case Jace, how could I forget about you, I haven't been coming because I was so occupied with school, and as for my number I lost my sim card, I have a new one now". She explained, they were already seated
"Okay, I understand". He nodded ''Can I have your new number now?'' He handed her his phone.
''Sure'' She received the phone and typed in her number then handed it back to him
"Yeah, so how's Uncle Carlos". Valerie asked, taking another sip from her coffee.
"He's good he said he would be coming in a few weeks". Jace stated, and Valerie mouthed an 'oh'.
"So.. what's going on with you?". Jace probed
"I'm actually looking for a job right now".
"We were actually looking for a waiter here, I would have given you the spot but we got someone a few days ago".
"Oh that's alright I'll just go job hunting".
"Job hunting? Hahaha" Jace chuckled.
"Why are you laughing?" Valerie glared at him.
"Job hunting, really''
"Duhh!"
"Anyways I have to leave now". She stood up and searched her bag, to get her money so she could pay for the coffee.
"I guess you're going job hunting now". He chuckled again, and Valerie was irked, she zipped her purse.
"Forget about your money ". She stomped out.
"Sure you can keep it!"
Jace yelled as she exited the place, then he shook his head before standing up to attend to something else, a waiter was already clearing the table.
Valerie stomped out of the coffee shop, Jace was so annoying, she was arranging her bag, she wasn't facing where she was going. Suddenly she bumped into something hard no it was someone, a man. The impact was so strong that she fell to the ground, she looked up at the man, there was another man standing next to him.
The man was extremely handsome, no handsome was an understatement, he was drop-dead gorgeous, he looked like a god, she knew him, it was the famous Kyle Gilberth, CEO of Kyle Intricate Designs, popularly called 'K.I.D'. Valerie didn't have the luxury to admire him he just made her fall and wasn't even apologizing.
She could feel his chilling aura, he was so intimidating, but she tried to ignore it. Other girls would be happy to be have been fallen down by him, they would even bow at his feet, but to Valerie, a wrong-doing was a wrong-doing no matter who did it.
The man standing next to Kyle immediately rushed forward to help her up, while Kyle just stood there like nothing happened.
For some reason, he seemed frozen.
"I'm sorry miss, are you fine?". The man asked worriedly.
...........EARLIER THAT DAY.......
Kyle was signing a few documents in his office, while Kayson just stared at him.
"Shall we go now?". Kayson was tired of just sitting there, he was able to convince Kyle to take a drive with him, or maybe Kyle already wanted to take a drive because no one could force him to do anything he didn't want to.
"Hmm" Kyle answered.
They headed to Kyle's Lamborghini, Kayson was the one driving. After a few minutes, Kayson stopped the car in front of a coffee shop.
"Why?" Kyle asked, referring to why Kayson suddenly stopped the car.
"I just thought we would stop by to have some
Coffee" Kayson answered
"You thought?" Kyle raised a brow.
"Yeah..."
"I don't want to have coffee". Kyle stated coldly.
"Then you can have a cappuccino instead." Kyle negotiated.
"It's the same thing".
"It's not". Kay told him, but later regretted because Kyle dangerously glared at him. The next thing he knew, Kyle opened the door, and Kayson did too.
They headed to the coffee shop, Kyle's gaze swept the building, it wasn't as classy as he was but it wasn't bad looking either.
Suddenly, he felt someone bump into him, it was a girl, and she had already fallen to the ground. He felt something within him, causing him to freeze for a moment.
What an arrogant girl he thought and she wasn't even apologizing for bumping into him.
Kayson on the other hand knew that Kyle was not going to apologize, he never apologized to anyone, and he looked at the innocent girl on the ground and rushed forward to help her up.
"I'm sorry miss, are you hurt?". He asked worriedly and the girl shook her head, dusting herself before thanking Kayson then turning to look at Kyle, no she was glaring at him. A mere girl, glaring at the almighty Kyle, Kayson smirked, this was unbelievable.
Was it that she didn't know him? But who didn't, even if she didn't know him, his aura alone would make her tremble, but here she was, glaring at him.
Kyle noticed her glares and was also shocked, but his facial expression didn't give way, it remained stoic.
