Chapter 38: A friend of Valeries?

Kyle came down from the car and turned to the other side to open the door for Valerie. Valerie was surprised by his actions he had never done this before. She smiled inwardly he held the door out for her and she came out.

They walked through the entrance the restaurant was chill and beautiful. Kyle led her to a seat and they sat down. A waiter handed them the menu. Silently, Valerie picked up the menu to take a look at it. Her eyes widened at the variety of flavors listed on it, some she had never seen before.

''Would you have some here or take it home'' Kyle asked her

''Let's have it here'' Valerie felt it was better they had the ice cream here so she could enjoy the moment with this unpredictable and arrogant CEO. The waiter approached them.

''Ma'am, Sir what ice cream would you like''

Kyle glanced at Valerie as though silently saying 'It's your call'. Valerie took a look at the menu again.

''Uh Vanilla and butter pecan medium size is fine''

''Just that'' Kyle asked, a little taken aback by her order. A billionaire CEO takes you to an ice cream restaurant and you order only two flavours and that too medium size?

''Yes, that would be fine'' Valerie nodded.

''You can order as much as you want '' Kyle stated as though trying to clarify.

''Thank you, but I'm alright'' She told him and with that, the waiter got their order ready. Later on, they got into the car and arrived home.

When the car halted in front of the mansion, Kay who was outside saw Kyle open the car door for Valerie. He rubbed his eyes to confirm that he wasn't dreaming, he was shocked to the core. What?

Valerie mouthed a thank you to Kyle before walking inside.

After Valerie had gone inside, Kay walked towards Kyle.

''Did I see right?''

''What do you mean'' Kyle said in his usual tone.

''You held out the car door for Valerie?'' He couldn't hide his shock. Kyle did not even bother answering him he only looked at him then walked away leaving Kay's jaws dropping.

Valerie got to her room and took out the ice cream Jade glanced at her and smiled.

''I see you two went on a date, huh'' Jade said wiggling her brows teasingly, she never acted her age.

''No grandma he just took me to a restaurant to get ice cream'' Valerie looking up at Jade.

''I see'' Jade sat beside her. Valerie opened one of the cups and had a spoon. She closed her eyes to savour the taste, it tasted so good.

''Tell me child'' Jade's expression turned serious.

''What''

''Do you have feelings for the CEO'' Jade asked her. Valerie put down her spoon and paused for a while.

''Actually'' She began after a few seconds.

''I do grandma'' She added and Jade smiled widely.

''So have you told him anything dear''

''Of course not'' Valerie yelled

''What, why'' Jade raised a brow.

''I'm pretty sure he doesn't like me'' Valerie said. She didn't for once think Kyle would like her of all people.

''Don't be so sure mi vida'' Jade told her and Valerie sighed.

''It doesn't really matter grandma. He doesn't like me and besides we'll be leaving this place by the end of the month so there's no point in all this''

''End of the month'' Jade said

''Yes''

''So it's going to be just the two of us again'' Jade smiled.

''Hm'' Valerie nodded, eating her ice cream.

At a beauty parlour, Tiffany could be seen getting her and manis done, while Emily was getting a facial treatment. Tiffany's hair was being straightened with a flat iron and her nails painted with pink polish. She wanted to look her best today, she even went extra mile to prep her skin.

''How's my hair'' She asked Emily after she was done.

''Oh my Tiff it looks so good, you look gorgeous as always, Emily praised her and Tiffany grinned.

''Of course I do, now let's go I have to meet Kyle'' Tiffany said.

''Why'' Emily asked, oblivious

''Silly you, how will he get to fall in love with me if I don't meet him'' Simone flicked her hair and unwrapped a pack of gum.

''Where would you find him'' Emily asked

''His office of course it's Monday, he's obviously going to be at his office''

''Okay... but you know how he is, are you sure he likes you'' Emily probed. Everyone knew the kind of person Kyle was, would he really like someone let alone Tiffany?

Tiffany glared at her and held her shoulders.

''Girl take a look at me, I'm gorgeous and plus I got my hair done'' She held her hair out. Emily who was dumb and easily swayed nodded excitedly.

''You're right''.

The duo left the parlour into Tiffany's car, heading to K.I.D enterprise. Meanwhile, Kyle was in his office looking at some mails on his system. He intended to get done with his work on time so he could pick Valerie up from work.

He had dropped her off that morning and unlike the last time, the ride wasn't all quiet. Valerie had a lot to talk about, while Kyle only listened and sometimes responded but in his usual flat tone. He enjoyed watching her speak and her smiles gosh her smiles.

There was a knock on the door

''Come in'' He said and the door was gently pushed. Vanessa walked inside.

''Good day sir'' She curtsied

''Hm''

''Actually sir someone is here to see you'' She told him, her eyes on the floor.

''Who'' Kyle raised his gaze to look at her.

''I'm not sure but she says her name is Tiffany Raymond''

Kyle raised a brow; he didn't know anyone by that name.

''Send her in''

Vanessa brought Tiffany into the office. Kyle leaned back on his seat on seeing her. He remembered seeing her on the day of Valerie's convocation; she was Valerie's friend he thought.

Vanessa left the office.

''You may have a seat'' He nodded at the seat opposite him. With flushed cheeks, Simone sat down. This was it!

''What brings you here'' Kyle asked.

Simone grinned widely and tucked some strands of hair behind her ear before removing her bag which she hanged on her shoulder and placing it on the seat next to her.

''I..I came to see you'' Kyle didn't say anything so she repeated.

''I actually came to see you''

''To see me'' Kyle reiterated

''Ye...yes'' She could not contend her joy or even act composed. She had never been this close to the CEO before, she was so elated but she needed to control herself. She took a deep breath.

''Why do you want to see me''

''Listen Mr Kyle, I know you're single and I am too. I'm beautiful and classy and I think we'd make a good pair'' She said but Kyle kept silent asked.

''Are you a friend of Valerie's?'' He said, after absorbing all she said
