Chapter 31: Rush

Then he held her shoulders and pulled her up, before lifting her up and carrying her in his arms. He carried her upstairs heading to her room but then he paused. He didn't think it was appropriate to just come into the room with the grandmother in there so he turned around and walked to his room. His room was the biggest, like the master bedroom he laid her on the king sized bed and pulled the blanket over her.

The sun was already out when Valerie's eyes fluttered open. She yawned, covering her mouth with the back of her hand. She turned to her side and the sunlight shone in her eyes, she quickly turned away. She noticed her grandma wasn't in bed she sat up and then was when she noticed her surroundings. This didn't look like her room! She swung out of bed and rushed towards the door. As she was about to open it, someone already opened it from the other side. It was Kyle, he seemed to have freshened up as he was wearing different clothes from yesterday and his hair looked combed she took a step back.

''Did you bring me here?'' She asked him

''Yes, you fell asleep in the library and I carried you to my room because I did not want to just go into your grandma's room'' He said after walking into the room. Valerie turned to look at him.

''Where did you sleep''

''I didn't'' He answered, Valerie gasped

''Because of me, You could've woken me ..'' She couldn't complete her sentence as he spoke instead.

''No, it's not. Sleep is not a big deal for me'' He shrugged.

She glanced at the window, the sun shone brightly

''What time is it'' She asked hurriedly

''9:35''

''What'' She exclaimed ''I have an exam by 10 oh no'' She panicked, she was late and it would take about 5 minutes to board a taxi and 15minutes to get there. She immediately rushed to her room. She dashed into the washroom and had a bath and brushed her teeth. In a short while she came out and hurried to her wardrobe.

''Why are you in such a hurry?'' Jade probed.

''I'm late for school grandma, I have exams today'' She said, frantically going through her wardrobe.

''You didn't come back last night'' Jade said.

''I fell asleep and the CEO brought me to his room'' She said changing her clothes.''Hmm sounds fun, did you have a good time?'' Jade teased.

''Gross grandma, I was just asleep''

Valerie rushed downstairs, she didn't have time to do her hair properly, it was already 9:38. She had to skip breakfast to avoid going late. She got to the street and stood by the side waiting for a taxi but as usual, it was hard getting one. Time was ticking and she was getting anxious, she couldn't afford to go late she'll get in big trouble. Just then a car stopped in front of her, it was Kyle's car He unwind the driver seat window.

''Get in''

Valerie paused and just looked at him, she was surprised.

''Get in or would you rather wait forever for a taxi and be late'' She heard him say next.

''No'' She said immediately and rushed to the other side and got in. Kyle started the car and drove away, Valerie kept digging her nails in her palm in anxiety, Kyle's face darkened and he sped up the car. Valerie was he was over speeding but the she realized he was just driving fast. For her? Was he really doing this for her sake? She felt quite giddy but then she could be wrong.

After Kyle arrived at the school, Valerie thought he drop her off outside the gate, but the car didn't stop, it drove inside the school.

The black BMW screeched to halt in the premises. The students who were outside had their jaw dropped at the sight of the car. Not like no one in the school had such a car but this one was just so cool. They watched as the car door opened, anticipating the wealthy person that was going to come out from the car.

Valerie thanked Kyle and closed the car door, on seeing her many of the students were shocked. They knew that Valerie wasn't from a wealthy family nor even had a small car but here she was, coming out of an expensive car. Obviously it wasn't hers, but whose was it. Some of them narrowed their eyes to the wind screen to see who drove the car but they couldn't see anything as it was well tinted.

Valerie was lucky to get there 5minutes before her exam, she approached Natasha and Simone. They didn't seem surprise about the car, they knew who it belonged to.

''Hey Val'' Natasha flashed her a smile

''So..what's it like being dropped of at school by The only and Kyle Gilberth. Simone bit her lips.

''You know that could have been his driver Sim'' Natasha said

''Nonsense, it was Kyle himself, didn't you see Valerie's expression when she came down from the car?'' Simone teased.

''You both seem to be getting along'' Natasha said with a knowing smile.

''Well I don't know, he's quite unpredictable'' Valerie shrugged they began to walk to their exam hall.

''Could we come visit sometime we'd also love to see grandma'' Simone said.

''I don't know if he'll agree to it, I'll seek his permission and if he does then that would be really great'' Valerie told them and they nodded. Two girls were walking towards them, it was Tiffany and Emily.

''Trouble makers'' Simone said in a whisper, her tone showing dislike.

''Hello scumbags'' Tiffany said as she got close enough to them, they halted.

''What do you want now'' Simone rolled her eyes.

''Valerie, who was that person that you dropped you off just now'' Valerie asked, totally ignoring the other two.

''Why do you care to know'' Natasha told her.

''Well if you care to know, it was the famous CEO Kyle Gilberth'' Simone flicked her hair and took a step closer to them, looking at them with disgust. The next thing they heard was Tiffany's chuckle and Emily followed suit.

''What did you say? Kyle Gilberth? Kyle even let her stand close to him, let alone seat in his car'' Tiffany scowled and chuckled again.

''Look at her she's so..'' Tiffany seemed to think for a while 'Ordinary'' She said.

''Believe it or not Tiffany, no one really cares. Now if you'd excuse we have exams to write'' Natasha said and the trio walked away, Simone not forgetting to glare at her first.
