Chapter 20: She's not home

The trio spent some time chatting about different things; Christy had already come back but left to give them space. It was getting dark now, and it sounded like it was going to rain.

''I should get going now I'm supposed to pick up my mom from the salon by 7:30. Bye''. Simone said, before she hurried away. She would have offered Val a ride but the route to the salon was different from that of the mansion's and plus it was already 7:25 she was quite late.

She rushed back in and gave them a hug before rushing out again, causing the two girls to chuckle. Simone was such a lively soul.

After Simone had left, Valerie turned to Tasha and they continued their conversation. Her gaze fell on the wall clock and then out the window.

''I should leave now, it's getting late and it's going to rain soon'' She told Simone as she rose up.

''Okay, be safe as for me, I think I'll spend a night here'' Natasha said as she eased herself and lay down.

After Valerie had left the hospital, she tried to board a cab but none drove by and the few ones that did didn't stop. She looked at the clouds, they were darker now and lightening flashed from time to time. After a few more failed attempts to board a cab, thunder roared and the droplets began to pour. She cursed, before running to a corner to avoid getting drenched.

At the mansion, Kyle just arrived home he took off his black coat and handed it to Gary.

''Welcome master'' Gray bowed, receiving the coat from him.

Kyle only nodded, before walking to the sala and sitting on the couch, in front of it was a hearth which was lit. He just sat there silently, he didn't notice the mouse' absence yet.

Jade just woke up, she had been sleeping for a while, she turned in bed, she didn't see Valerie nor did she hear any sound coming from the bathroom.

She would have loved to look around the house for her, but she was still recovering and asked to be in bed 247 for the next few weeks. Luckily, one of the nurses appointed to take care of her walked into the room.

''You're awake, I came to check on you''.

''Yes, uhm where is Valerie?''. Jade asked, her voice almost a whisper.

''I do not know, but I could ask one of the staff if you want''. The nurse said.

''Oh please do''

The nurse went downstairs, she met the butler near the kitchen, and she approached him.

''Excuse me, have you seen the patient's granddaughter?''. She asked Gary.

''I did a few hours ago she said she was going to the hospital to see a friend''

''Oh, okay. Get me the turmeric milk, I'll take it to the patient's room''. The nurse said, she gave this 'I hate my job' kind of vibe and so she sounded rude even when she was trying to be polite.

Kay joined Kyle in the sala, he sat next to him with his usual grin on his face. Kyle didn't even look at him or acted as though someone was next to him.

''Yo'' Kay greeted enthusiastically, Kyle didn't say anything and Kay sighed. He became silent, playing with the rubik's cube he was holding, he looked around.

''I don't see her anywhere''. He looked at Kyle

''Who''

''Valerie of course, who else''

''She's probably with her grandmother''. Kyle said, unfazed.

''Well okay'' Kay shrugged and they became quiet again.

Janelle approached them, curtsied and said ''Master, I made dinner, would you like to eat now''

''No just serve the girl and her grandma''. Kyle wasn't eating.

''But master, the girl is not home. I'll just serve the grandma instead?''. Janelle said, not looking him in the eye. Kay paused upon hearing this.

''She's not home?''. Kyle asked and Janelle shook her head.

''Where did she go''

''I'm not sure master but Gray said she said she was going to the hospital. to visit a friend''

''You may leave'' Kyle said. He suddenly rose up and started walking towards outside. Kay rushed towards him and held his arm.

''Where are you going''

''To find her'' Kyle said in his usual tone

''But it's raining cats and dogs outside how would you find her'' Kay asked

''I'll be back'' Was all Kyle said, before leaving the mansion. He got into his black BMW and drove away; he didn't know what hospital she went to.

How would he find her? It was raining really heavily but he could see clearly for obvious reasons and he regretted not giving her his number. He couldn't probably search every hospital in the city, or could he? Nah... Maybe?

Back at home, the nurse had come back Jade's and Valerie's room with a glass of turmeric milk. She placed the glass of milk on the bedside drawer and helped the old lady sit up. She then took the glass of milk and gently handed it to her.

''Have this'' She said

''Where's Val'' Jade ask, receiving the milk from her

''She's not home, I was told she went to visit a friend in the hospital but the master has gone to look for her so don't worry'' The nurse said ''Now drink your milk''

On hearing that Kyle had gone to look for Valerie she felt less worried and she didn't know why.

Kyle had been driving for a while, driving all around if he would find her. He cursed every time that passed and as the rain grew fiercer. After a long ride, he spotted her sitting in front of an abandoned restaurant, she was shivering. He came down from his car.

>>After waiting at a corner for a while, Valerie tried to halt a taxi but there was none at all. She decided to sit down in front of an abandoned restaurant and wait. Time passed and she was stranded, she began to feel really cold and shivery.

She felt like Princess Elsa from the show 'Frozen'

Suddenly she felt even colder, that feeling was familiar she looked up and saw him. He was here, she was surprised to see him but at least she felt better.
