In fact, he hated sweets.
As a child, Si Nian always loved to send him those pastries, which he detested. They usually ended up in the mouth of his sister, Fu Qianqian.
Since his sister loved them, he never said anything, leading Si Nian to believe he enjoyed them, and she would constantly send him various delicate treats.
But Si Nian didn't know he had never tasted any of them.
Of course, Fu Yang didn't feel guilty about Si Nian, as giving food was purely her own desire. He had never asked her to send anything.
Yet for some reason, he suddenly felt a strong urge to try one now.
Expecting it to be overly sweet, he was surprised to find that the pastry was rich and fragrant, melting in his mouth.
After swallowing, the lingering flavor remained, leaving him wanting more.
He paused for a moment, surprised.
Seeing his expression, Grandma Jiang smiled and said, "How is it? Delicious, right? I have to say, that girl really has great skills."
Fu Yang was momentarily lost in thought.
He had always found desserts difficult to enjoy—too sweet and cloying, much like Si Nian herself, who was overly clingy and annoying.
But now he realized it wasn't the case at all.
He pursed his lips and glanced at Grandma Jiang, who looked delighted.
"Aunt Jiang, do you know her?" he asked.
Grandma Jiang was taken aback, not quite understanding the question. "You mean Si Nian? The one who brought me the pastries?"
Fu Yang nodded. "Yeah."
Grandma Jiang replied, "Of course I know her! Otherwise, why would she be bringing me food? But why do you ask?"
Fu Yang hesitated, wondering if Grandma Jiang was reluctant to mention his past with Si Nian. After all, he was married to Lin Sisi now, so perhaps they were avoiding the topic altogether.
With that thought, he shook his head and didn't say anything further, taking his leave. Grandma Jiang was left puzzled, not fully grasping the situation.
What was this kid asking about Si Nian for?
Did he get captivated by that girl's extraordinary beauty when he saw her delivering something?
Grandma Jiang thought it was quite possible. After all, with such looks, even an old woman like her found Si Nian appealing.
It was just a shame that Si Nian was already married—she was out of reach.
So, Grandma Jiang didn't probe further.
After leaving the Jiang family, Fu Yang sat in his car for a while, contemplating Grandma Jiang's words.
Indeed, she knew Si Nian. The fact that Si Nian brought her pastries might have been a way to win her over, possibly to get closer to him.
He speculated that Grandma Jiang might have even recommended this place to her. Otherwise, given Si Nian's current situation, how could she afford such a nice house?
He had looked into Zhou Yue's background before. At thirty, he had three adopted sons.
Someone as proud as Si Nian would never be content to be with a man like that, even if she didn't say it out loud.
Now that she was back in the city, her first move was to reconnect with people she knew.
It was clear she was making a considerable effort to get closer to him.
