"I'm currently teaching at this school, in Class 4A. You can come find me anytime."

Si Nian paused her movement to turn her head.

She blinked.

Just as Wu Renai thought she was moved by him, Si Nian smiled and waved to a nearby child: "Son, come here! This is your homeroom teacher, go say hi."

Wu Renai: "..."

Zhou Zedong noticed Si Nian talking to a strange man from a distance.

He instinctively quickened his pace, feeling uneasy about the way the man was looking at his mom.

Upon hearing her words, he hesitated for a moment.

He approached, taking in the sight of the man's flushed face and dull expression, and frowned with obvious disdain: "Is this really my homeroom teacher?"

The previous vice principal had said his homeroom teacher was fierce, and even though she might be excellent, she probably wouldn't take him in.

Apparently, she was some kind of Dr. Turtle.

He didn't quite understand, but she seemed impressive.

So why did she look so clueless?

Wu Renai was stunned by the word "son," his head buzzing.

It wasn't until he saw the child looking at him like he was an idiot that he snapped back to reality.

He awkwardly stammered, "Y-yeah, I'm the homeroom teacher for Class 4A. I'm Wu Renai."

Zhou Zedong thought, "You seem more like 'no one loves you.'"

"Well, we'll be on our way," Si Nian said politely, smiling as she started to leave with the two kids.

Wu Renai hadn't seen her in ten years, but Si Nian looked just the same as before—only even more beautiful.

As a child, she had been the prettiest girl in the military compound, and all the boys his age liked her.

Wu Renai had shared the same unspoken dream of marrying Si Nian when they grew up.

But in her eyes, she only had eyes for Fu Yang.

No one could catch the eye of this young lady.

Nobody expected that Si Nian would face such a tragic fate as she grew up.

He still had many questions to ask.

Seeing her about to leave, he panicked.

"Wait, Nian Nian, don't go!"

Hearing that nickname, Si Nian felt a twinge of discomfort, even though he was a childhood friend.

As she frowned, a low, cold voice cut through the air nearby—

"What do you want?"

Si Nian paused, turning to see Zhou Yueshen standing at the entrance of a nearby building. The winter sunlight cast a sharp, icy glow on his tall figure.

His eyes narrowed as they landed on Wu Renai's hand reaching for her, a hint of menace flashing in his gaze.

Si Nian's expression shifted slightly.

Wasn't the old man supposed to be busy?

She thought he wouldn't be home for days—why was he here?

Zhou Yueshen quickly stepped forward, grabbing Si Nian's hand and shielding her behind him.

Looking down at Wu Renai with a frosty tone, he asked, "What do you want with my wife?"

Wu Renai was momentarily taken aback by the words.
