Li Youcai's grandmother was the school director, and everyone knew it.

At this age, kids had already learned who they needed to please and who to avoid. Hearing what Li Youcai said, the others admired him even more.

They all wished they had such a powerful grandmother.

Zhou Zedong reached out to grab his book: "Give it back!"

Li Youcai immediately raised his hand higher.

He was taller than Zhou Zedong, making him have to jump to reach it. And just as Zhou Zedong jumped, Li Youcai stuck out his foot to trip him.

As expected, Zhou Zedong fell forward, hitting the ground and feeling dizzy.

The group burst out laughing.

"Look at him, he looks so dumb!"

"Shorty! Shorty!"

"What are you doing? Didn't you hear the bell for class?" The math teacher's voice sternly reprimanded them.

Everyone instantly quieted down and hurried back to their seats.

Li Youcai then played the victim, shouting, "Teacher Xu, Zhou Zedong stole my handwriting practice book!"

The math teacher, Ms. Xu, was notoriously strict and loathed troublemakers. She adored students who excelled academically, but when it came to those who struggled, she viewed them with utter disdain—like they were worthless.

Li Youcai was the class's math monitor and the grandson of Director Li. Ms. Xu held him in high regard.

When she heard his accusation, she didn't hesitate to believe it. She prided herself on being impartial, always claiming to stand above favoritism. But in reality, she often went out of her way to flatter Director Li, and Li Youcai was her go-to topic for striking up conversations with the director.

Director Li doted on her grandson, and in turn, supported Ms. Xu. But recently, things had been tense in the office. Ever since the incident between Director Li and the new teacher, Si Nian, Ms. Xu's once-comfortable position had become precarious.

Teachers who had previously been targeted by Director Li now seemed emboldened. Once, they had avoided Ms. Xu and her condescending attitude, but now they were starting to band together, leaving her feeling intentionally isolated.

Her disdain for Si Nian had only grown, especially since Si Nian had managed to make such a splash from the start. What infuriated Ms. Xu even more was how Si Nian had managed to get both of her sons enrolled in the school.

"Who does she think she is?" Ms. Xu thought bitterly, unable to hide her growing resentment.

Would you like to continue with this storyline?

And yet, her own son couldn't get in?

She didn't believe that Si Nian's two kids were better than her own.

They must have some kind of background.

"Zhou Zedong, who told you to steal? Speak up!"

"How could a child like you develop such bad habits? What are your parents teaching you?"

Zhou Zedong stood up, fists clenched, back straight. "I didn't steal it. That's my practice book."

Teacher Xu sneered. "So you're saying I'm accusing you falsely? I've heard about your situation—you're from the countryside, right? Do you even know how much that practice book costs?" She pointed at it.

Zhou Zedong didn't know because his mom had bought it for him.

Seeing him speechless, Teacher Xu's expression grew colder.
