Si Nian remained calm as she walked in with Yaoyao.
Behind her, Grandma Jiang had originally planned to check out Si Nian's office, but upon hearing the conversation inside, she was also quite shocked.
Entering the room, they saw the middle-aged man who had visited the Si family a few days ago. He was visibly upset.
As soon as he saw Si Nian, he immediately exclaimed, "Nian Nian, tell your director, isn't it true that you helped introduce my kid here?"
Si Nian nodded calmly, "Yes, that's right."
Her third uncle lit up with joy and turned to the deputy director. "Did you hear that? My niece introduced me here. I wasn't lying!"
The deputy director frowned and looked at Si Nian. "Teacher Si, what's going on with this situation?"
There were two other teachers in the office, and upon hearing Si Nian's admission, they were equally shocked, staring at her with a mix of surprise and disdain.
Si Nian explained, "It's like this: A few days ago, my third uncle came to me and asked if I could help him get his son into our school."
Although it was not unheard of for teachers to have a few slots they could use to help people quietly get into the school, no one ever admitted to it so openly.
The two teachers were stunned, looking at her in disbelief.
Even Grandma Jiang was taken aback.
The deputy director was momentarily speechless, beginning to doubt if he had overestimated Si Nian's integrity.
Si Nian's third uncle had just let out a sigh of relief, thinking that everything should be fine now. But then he heard her continue:
"Third Uncle said his son is smart—smarter than my Xiao Dong. So I figured, if he's such a talent, we definitely need to bring him to our school. That's why I sent him to you, Director."
Her uncle's brief moment of ease was shattered instantly.
"What's wrong?" Si Nian blinked innocently. "Are you all too amazed by how talented my uncle's son is?"
The deputy director looked at her with a complicated expression, while one of the teachers nearby couldn't hold back a sneer, muttering, "Amazed? Oh, we're amazed, alright. A ten-year-old who couldn't solve a single problem in the entrance test—that's truly something."
Si Nian's eyes widened in shock as she turned to her third uncle with a look of betrayal. "Uncle, didn't you say your son was smarter than my Xiao Dong? How come he couldn't solve a single problem?"
Her uncle's face flushed bright red. "That... that's not my kid's fault! The questions were too hard. They said he needed at least 90 points to get in. If my kid could score that high, why would I come to you for help?"
Embarrassed and frustrated, he lashed out, "Didn't you promise to help get my son in? Why make it so complicated now?"
Si Nian calmly replied, "Uncle, I gave your son a chance, but if he couldn't seize it, who's to blame for that?"
"That's nonsense!" Her third uncle, feeling humiliated, exploded in anger. "The questions were too hard—impossible to solve! What kind of joke are you playing?"
"I'm not joking," Si Nian said helplessly. "My son solved them. If you don't believe me, you can ask the deputy director."
At this point, the deputy director finally understood the situation. He figured that Si Nian's relatives had exaggerated, thinking they could pull strings now that she was working at the school. They probably led her to believe that her uncle's son was even better than Zhou Zedong. Out of a genuine desire to help a talented student, she had introduced him, not expecting this outcome.
