"𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 the hell were you?!" Your eyes are dragged off of his as Nami shakes your shoulders back and forth and yells over the cheers of the crowds, your mind doesn't even process her words as you turn your head back to watch Luffy and Ace's fight, you don't mean to ignore her but the flash of punches being thrown in the ring is captivating.
He is captivating, watching him do what he loves is entrancing, seeing him with that big smile on his face as he blocks makes your heart flutter with warmth but also with worry, you love both of the boys and can't stand to see them get hurt when either of them win.
"y/n, y/n." Nami snaps her fingers in front of your face to try and catch your attention but rolls her eyes when you don't even spare a glance at her.
"God she's whipped." She whispers to herself, giving up on getting your answer and instead watching the fight like how you are doing so intensely, she's just glad Luffy's going to confess after this, she couldn't take this slow burn any longer.
You cringe as Luffy gets a hit on Ace's face causing his brother to stumble back a bit, Luffy takes Ace's disoriented state as a chance to take a look back at you to make sure you were watching, if only he knew your eyes hadn't left his form since the moment ment you stepped the building, you shoot him a thumbs up to let him know he's doing good and he shoots one right back at you with an even bigger smile.
You let out a little yelp as Ace lands a punch on Luffy when his attention is on you, 'yup, no more distracting him' you think to yourself while rubbing the back of your neck.
A punch grazed Luffy's chin, he moved back before it could turn into something serious, but he wasn't quick enough to block his brothers second fist coming straight for his gut, when the second punch doubled him over he expelled the last bit of air from his toned belly.
The bell rang, indicating that the first match was over, the speaker announced that Ace had gotten the point for that round. Both boxers were instructed to go back to their corners but Luffy locked eyes with you and made a b-line towards you, he would've made it if it weren't for the strong arm of his trainer dragging him back to his corner, you laugh at the pout that takes over his face, he looked like a kicked puppy.
"Hey! I was tryna' see y/n." Luffy frowns and looks to the side, avoiding the tissue paper Shanks was trying to use to clean the blood off his face, the red haired man turns his head the same direction as Luffy too see what he was looking at, it was you, you smiling and conversing with your friends, he sees the reavenettes frown deepen, he knows Luffy wants to be down there with you but he can't afford any distractions, especially not now.
"Thats y/n ehh? I can see why you like her, she's a pretty little thing." Shanks speaks and tries to force Luffy's head in his direction, but it only seemed to make him look at you more.
"You sound like Sanji." Shanks ignores the boys comment and looks at the timer, they only have a few seconds left of break time, he needed to get Luffy's head in the game somehow, If he keeps looking at you during the match this is going to be and easy win for Ace.
