ANW CHAPTER 8 "Is she...dead?"

Tyler just arrives at his house.

Tyler: "I'm home!"

Tyler walks to the living room. His dad is sleeping on the couch, snoring.

Tyler: "Dad? Dad!"

His dad wakes up.

Dad: "Oh Tyler, are you home already?"

Tyler: "It's 8 pm..."

His dad looks confused.

Dad: "Really?"
Tyler rolls his eyes and walks over to the kitchen. He opens the fridge. The fridge only contains some beers and barely some food.

Tyler: "What's for dinner? "

His dad doesn't answer.

Tyler: "Dad?"

His dad is snoring again.

Tyler: "I can't believe him..."

Tyler walks to his room. He looks into his mirror.

Tyler: "I do not want to become like him. I do not want to be unemployed, alone, fat..."

He pulls his shirt up and you can see his skinny body and bones.

Tyler wakes up and gets out of his bed. He puts a hoodie on and walks out of his tent. Everyone is sitting somewhere apart from each other. Jason is sitting alone, apart from the others eating food, not taking a glance at anyone. Adrian yawns and looks tired. He has bags under his eyes and looks pale. Tyler walks over to Adrian.

Tyler: "Maybe you should give everyone a task? Everyone is here."

Adrian: "Oh, yeah you're right."

Tyler sits down and Adrian stands up.

Adrian: "Okay it's time to start working everyone. We should make 2 groups, one group will work here, and another to go outside and explore the woods."

Candice: "Why do we even need to go into the woods? It's too dangerous out there."

Adrian: "Well, I thought we could maybe find something useful out there. Like we found this place, we found a lake with supplies to go fishing. Who knows what else is out there?"

Everyone is very quiet.

Adrian: "Any volunteers to go outside?"

Nobody makes a sound.

Adrian: "Well, then I will make a group. Uhm, I'll go with Zayn, Jackie, and Jessie."

Zayn, Jackie, and Jessie look anxious.

Adrian: "Anyone who objects?"

They all just sit quietly.

Adrian: "Then we will leave in an hour."

Adrian goes inside the building.

Everyone is ready to go. Alex and Zayn hug.
They all wave at each other and Zayn, Adrian, Jessie, and Jackie walk in the opposite direction of the building, into the forest. They walk in one line, behind each other. Adrian upfront.
