ANW CHAPTER 13 "We are pretty lucky..."

Next morning. Alex wakes up. She sits straight and yawns. Then she sees Zayn on her left lying next to her mattress. He is covered in his blanket. Alex get's up and gets out of her tent. She sees that everyone is sitting outside including the new group. Adrian is talking to Candice. He sees Alex come out.
Adrian: Alex, is Zayn in your tent?
Alex: Yes...
Jason smirks at her. Alex looks annoyed at him, but then ignores him.
Adrian: Could you go wake him up? I want to tell everyone the plan for today.
Alex: Okay.
Alex gets back in the tent. Zayn is still in deep sleep.
Alex: Zayn. Zayn wake up.
Alex touches Zayn arm.
Alex: Wake up.
Zayn moves his head and moans. He then opens his eyes.
Alex: You got to get out of bed. Everyone is waiting.
Zayn moved a little.
Zayn: Okay, I'll be done in a second.
Alex looks doubting at him.
Alex: Okay, but hurry.
Alex gets out. Adrian looks at her.
Alex: He'll be here in a second. Just begin and tell him later.
Alex sits down. Adrian stands up and stands in the middle of the circle.
Adrian: So everyone. We got some work to do today. And from today on we are going to do it with our 4 new people. Now they also belong to our group in Greenville. Okay now the work we will have to do. I want to ask Zayn to go fishing, if he ever gets out of bed, and anyone who volunteers to go with him.
Everyone is quiet.
Adrian: Just one person.
Ryan: I'll go.
Everyone looks surprised.
Chris whispers to Ryan
Chris: Are you sure it's safe to go with one of them out in the woods?
Ryan: It's not 'one of them' it's 'one of us'. And we should get to know them right?
Adrian: Great. Okay then the rest of us will set up 4 more tents.
Adrian smiles. The new group looks excited.

Ryan has a backpack on his back. He walks over to Adrian.
Ryan: Hey, when will Zayn and me go fishing?
Adrian: As soon as Zayn is ready I guess.
Adrian calls Alex.
Adrian: Alex! Could you go and see how far Zayn is?
Alex rolls her eyes.
Alex: Okay.
Alex gets in her tent again. Zayn is asleep.
Alex: You lazy asshole.
Alex shakes his arm. He wakes up.
Zayn: What?
Alex: I told you to wake up about an hour ago. Why are you still in bed?
Zayn: I'm fell asleep.
Alex: Well, get your lazy ass up. Your going to go fishing with Ryan.
Zayn: Ryan? That brunette dude?
Alex: Yeah. Just hurry up and catch some fish.
Alex gets out. Ryan is sitting bored on the ground with his backpack on his back. Adrian walks over to him.
Adrian: I'm glad that you're on the same page as me.
Ryan looks confused.
Adrian: We should get these two groups to be one and I think it's a good idea that you're going to go fishing with Zayn.
Ryan: I guess.
Adrian: You don't think the same way?
Ryan: I just hope that Ruby and Chris will behave. They can both be a little...overprotective.
Adrian: It'll be fine. And you probably won't be away for long. Zayn is a fishing expert.
Adrian smiles. Zayn gets out of his tent. Zayn yawns and looks around. He sees Ryan and Adrian. He walks over to them. Ryan looks a little nervous. Zayn looks at Adrian.
Adrian: Are you ready to go?
Zayn: Yeah...
Ryan stands up. They walk to the gate. Ryan and Zayn walk out and walk next to each other.
Ryan: So...I heard your very good at fishing. Where did you learn it?
Zayn: From my dad. We went fishing every summer, that's the only time that he didn't have to work.
Ryan: What was his job?
Zayn: He was a surgeon for people on the ER. My mom also worked at the ER so they were away a lot.
Ryan: That must've sucked.
Zayn: A little, but they never complained about anything and I could do whatever I want.
Ryan: My parents were the opposite. Especially my mom, she needed to knew where I went, with who I hang out with, but I know she just wanted me to be safe.
Zayn: She sounds caring. How's Ruby dealing with... you know, what happened?
Ryan: Uhm...she is dealing with it her own way. She is really stubborn so she won't admit that she's sad, but I know she is. She's only 14 years old.
Zayn: That young, I didn't knew that.
They are quiet.
Zayn: And how are you holding up?
Ryan: I'm fine. Trying to keep Ruby safe, but I'm sure she's safe with y'all around her.
Zayn: You will be fine. We've been here for quite a while. There's not a lot of freaks around here because we're out of town, but we can still go inside the town for supplies.
Ryan: That sounds good.
They walk further.
