ANW CHAPTER 23 "That is strong shit"

It's morning and Katy is laying in bed. Ruby is snoring quietly. Katy looks at the ceiling annoyed. She turns around and presses her face into her pillow. She then gets up, whilst still wearing her pajamas. Katy puts on her winter coat, gets out of the room and the goes outside.

The sun is shining and reflecting against the small layer of snow. Katy leans against the wall. After some time Levi gets out of the building.

Katy has her arms crossed and looks annoyed. "Morning."
Levi stands next to Katy leaning against the wall. "Morning. Why are you awake so early?"

Katy yawns. "Ruby was snoring and woke me. I couldn't fall asleep anymore." Katy rubs her eyes.

"Oh, I hope you slept enough." Levi grabs a package of cigarette and a lighter out of his pocket. He lights one cigarette, but before Levi can put the package back in his pocket Katy holds her hand out towards him.

"I thought you said it was just a one time thing." Levi looks at her doubtful.

Katy looks at him with pleading eyes. "Please?" She smiles sweetly.

Levi sighs and gets one out of his package. "Fine, but if someone finds out, don't tell it's from me."

He hands Katy the cigarette and lights it for her.

"Thanks." Katy takes a puff. Katy coughs a little. She takes another puff and her cough starts to become less.

The two of them smoke for a bit.

"Are you allowed to drink tonight?" Katy says curiously.

Levi shrugs his shoulders. "I don't know. I'm not sure I even want to drink."

Katy seems confused. "Why?"

"It doesn't seem that fun." Levi looks at Katy. "Would you drink if you were allowed to?"

"I would at least try it. I'm just curious. I never tried alcohol."

"Me neither." Levi says as he takes another hit from his cigarette.

Suddenly Ruby walks out of the building. Katy quickly drops her cigarette behind her.

"There you are. Why are you up already?" Ruby crosses her arms.

Katy stares at her with a mild irritation. "Because you were snoring."

Ruby looks embarrassed. "Oh, I'm sorry."
She stands next to Katy. "So..."

It's awkwardly quiet.

Levi finishes his cigarette and drops it in the ground. "I'm gonna grab some food. Do you guys want some?"

Katy doesn't make eye contact. "No, thanks."

Ruby looks at Katy and then at Levi. "Me neither."

Levi walks into the building.

Ruby rubs her arms. "It's very cold outside. I'm going back inside, you coming?"

"No..." Katy responds.

Ruby looks irritated. "Why not?"

Katy looks at Ruby and shrugs. "I like to be outside."

Ruby sighs. "Alright then..." She walks into the building.

Katy sits down and sighs. Levi gets out of the building with a plate with a sandwich that's split in two pieces. He sits down next to Katy.

Katy sighs. "I'm so fucking bored... What am I going to do all day? "
