ANW CHAPTER 15 "Everyone has problems"

It's really early in the morning. Ruby is awake and Ryan is still lying there. She goes up to him and holds her head next to his chest to hear his heartbeat. He then wakes up. Ruby sits straight up and smiles. Ryan mumbles something she can't understand.
Ruby: Good morning. How are you feeling?
Ryan: Wha- wha happened?
Ruby doesn't answer the question.
Ryan: Where's everyone?
Ruby: Sleeping. It's early in the morning.
Ryan: Wait... I remember. We went to the mall and then... then we got attacked by some boys.
Ryan then looks at his arm. He tries to move it, but it aches.
Ruby: Candice stitched you up.
Ryan then tries to stand up, but Ruby puts her hands against his shoulders.
Ruby: You just woke up. Just let me get Candice okay?
Ryan nods, still disoriented. Ruby gets out of the building and opens Candice's tent.
Ruby: Candice, are you awake?
Candice doesn't respond. Ruby coughs.
Ruby: Candice are you awake?
She is speaking louder.
Ruby: Candice? Are? You? Awake?!
Candice then wakes up.
Candice: Wha?
Ruby: Oh you are awake. Can you come to the building? Ryan is awake.
Candice stretches.
Candice: Okay sure.
After some time Candice gets out. They walk to the building and get inside. Ryan is still lying on the ground.
Candice: Good to see you awake Ryan. How are you feeling?
Ryan: I'm feeling pretty good. Except for the bullet in my arm.
Candice: I took the bullet out and stitched you up.
Ryan has a painful expression on his face. "It still hurts like a son of a bitch."
Candice: I can give you some painkillers.
Ryan: Yeah, that would be nice.
Candice gets some painkillers out of a bag. She gives a pill to him. He tries to swallow it. But then his face squeezes together from disgust.
Ryan: Water! Water!
Ruby has a straight face and points at a water bottle next to him. He quickly grabs it and starts drinking it.
Ruby: You're so stupid.
Ryan ignores her.
Candice: Okay, well. Do you feel pain anywhere else? Or maybe dizzy, nauseous?
Ryan shakes his head.
Candice: I have to say, you are lucky. Your bone isn't broken, the bullet wasn't shattered. It could be a lot worse.
Ruby: Lucky? He got shot! He could've been dead!
Candice looks unbelievable at Ruby.
Candice: But he isn't. He is going to be back to normal in no time. He is 'lucky'.
Ruby looks annoyed and breaks eye contact. Candice takes a breath to relax.
Candice: Okay then. Ryan we will need to do physiotherapy some times, so your arm won't get stiff and you'll recover faster.
Candice puts a smile on her face.
Ryan: Thank you Candice.
Candice grabs some bread, peanut butter and some plates and then walks out of the building. She hears Ryan and Ruby argue. She puts the plates on the table and makes a peanut butter sandwich for herself. She then sits down by the campfire and eats it with a tired look on her face. Then her face turns into disgust. She takes a look at her bread and the bottom side has fungus on it. Candice spits the bread out and make disgusted noises. She then puts her plate on the ground away and drops herself on the ground. She looks at the sky. It then starts to rain. Candice looks more annoyed and sits down under the sail. She sighs. Eventually Jason comes out of his tent.
Jason: Morning.
Candice groans. Jason looks confused.
Jason: Are you not in a good mood?
Candice: No...
Jason wants to grab some bread.
Candice: I wouldn't grab some bread if I were you.
Jason: Why not?
Jason just grabs the bread and puts peanut butter on it.
Candice: It's your choice, but mine had fungus on it.
Jason stops making his bread and turns towards Candice.
Jason: Well what do I eat then?
Candice: I'm not your mother, go look for yourself.
Jason: You really aren't in a good mood.
Jason walks into the building. He sees Ryan and Ruby arguing, they notice him and stop.
Jason: Morning.
Ryan: Morning.
Ruby has her arms crossed and looks annoyed. Jason goes to look for some food. He finds a can with fruit and some lettuce. He looks a little disappointed, but takes it with him outside.
Jason: Why don't we have any good food?
Candice: Maybe because we are in a apocalypse?
Jason: I'm still not used to this. You know the reason I don't cook, because I don't know how to do it. At home my chef's made my food every day.
Candice: No shit, I know you are spoiled. This is probably your karma.
Jason: I already have had enough karma.
Candice looks confused at him.
Jason sits down next to her and opens his can of fruit. He eats some fruit from his fork. Candice watches him in lust.
Candice: Can I have some?
Jason looks doubting, but then rolls his eyes and nods. Candice grabs a plate and sits back down. Jason pours some fruit on Candice's plate. She looks hungry and immediately starts eating. She eats like a beast. Jason looks weird at her as he eats neatly, like he is in a restaurant.
Jason: Why the hell are you so hungry?
Candice: I get hungry when I'm stressed.
Jason: Oh, okay.
Candice looks confused at him.
Candice: You are not wondering why I'm stressed?
Jason: No.
Candice looks annoyed. They go further with eating. Then Jessie comes out of her tent. She walks up to them.
Jessie: Morning.
Candice: Morning.
Jason nods as a way to say hello. Jessie coughs a lot.
Jessie: I think I got a cold last night.
She sniffs with her nose and then sits down next to Candice. She looks weird at Candice who is still eating like an animal. Then Tyler comes out.
Tyler: Morning.
Everyone says morning back to him.
Jessie's voice sounds a little weird because of her cold.
Tyler looks weird at Jessie, but ignores it. He sits next to Jason. Jason looks at him and then hands him his fruit. Tyler doubts, but then takes it. Then Zayn and Alex come out of their tent. They look really happy. They ignore the others and grab some bread. Candice opens her mouth to tell Zayn and Alex to stop, but Jason taps her shoulder and shakes his head with a smirk. Candice looks at Jason and then back at Zayn and Alex. Zayn and Alex take some bread and sit in front of the others.
Alex: Good morning.
Zayn and Alex both take a bite out of the bread and immediately look disgusted.
Alex: Ew, there is fungus on it.
Zayn spits it out and looks really disgusted. Jason giggles. Zayn looks unbelievable at Jason. He then looks at Alex. Alex looks confused.
Alex: What?
Zayn: He knew about it!
Jason: I didn't.
Zayn: Yes you did!
Zayn tries to get up, but Alex pushes him back down.
Alex: It's just food Zayn.
Zayn sits back down.
Jason: You have more of a temper lately Zayn.
Zayn looks annoyed and sighs. He looks mad at Jason. Jason has an evil smile on his face. Tyler elbow bumps Jason.
Jason: What?
Tyler shakes his head. Jason rolls his eyes.
