"If anything, I'd say it's a date dress," said Kristina.

"Oh, that's not–"

"Don't worry. I know it's not... Have you dated anyone after your daughter's father?"

"Is it that obvious?" asked Kenzie.

Kristina: Red John, if you're listening to us now, I urge you to reach out and get help. You can change.

"What the hell are you thinking?" asked Patrick. "Don't you understand who you're dealing with?"

"Red John is not coming after me," said Kristina.

"What?!" exclaimed Kenzie.

"You've done exactly what I did, and he killed my wife and child."

"Red John could've gotten in and taken her, or maybe he lured her out somehow."

Gunshots rang out. The two heard two bodies fall to the ground. Kenzie gasped as Welsey fell to the ground with a gunshot wound.

The figure grabbed Kenzie's chin and forced her to look up at the mask. "Say it!"

"You're Red John."

"Yes. Hardy couldn't do his job correctly, and you're a very hard woman to come across. You see, I've waited for a long time for you."

"What do you want from me?"

"Oh, I thought it was obvious. You're going to be the next me."

Red John grabbed the back of Kenzie's chair and slid a knife down the tape. Kenzie tried to get out of his grip, but he just threw her to the ground, landing in front of Patrick. He hovered over her and pushed the side of her face into the carpet. Kenzie moaned in pain.

"Tiger, tiger, burning bright... In the forests of the night, what immortal hand or eye could frame thy fearful symmetry?"

Red John lifted her shirt, revealing her stomach. Red John dug the knife into her stomach, drawing a small smiley face. Kenzie screamed in pain, begging him to stop. He took the bloody knife out.

Red John got up and patted Patrick's shoulder. "I almost forgot. Kristina would want me to send you both her love. She's very fond of you, Kenzie, despite your differences." He made eye contact with Kenzie. "Roll Tide!"

"And you won't be in the field for at least a month."

"Fine by me."

She looked up to see Patrick walking past her office. She smiled at him, only to frown in disappointment as he didn't greet her at all.

She raised her shirt. She ran her finger over the stitches on her smiley face scar.

"That darkness in you. Everyone wants you to hide it. Not me. I want you to show them how dark you can truly be."

🙂

Kenzie crossed her arms as she looked at the crime scene with a bored look. She turned her head to see Patrick walking up to her and Teresa.
