Kenzie looked up at the bridge and looked back down at the female victim. The victim was a woman who worked for a female senator. She turned her attention to the boys as they walked up to the crime scene.

"Sacramento P.D.'s handing the case over to us. Let's go talk to the coroner. You want me to recap the case, sleepyhead," teased Kenzie.

"Kristin Marley– lady senator's side, rumored romance with the senator's husband," said Patrick.

Kenzie leaned over to Teresa. "Wow, he actually paid attention to you."

"Very good," said Teresa.

"Oh, I trained myself to hear and take in information while asleep."

"The others told you," asked Kenzie.

"Yes, they did."

The team walked over to the body with the coroner. "At this point, there's no way to determine what happened to the victim, Agent Lisbon. I-I simply can't help you."

"Well, can you tell us how long she's been dead," asked Kenzie with a hint of attitude.

"I couldn't possibly, given the evidence available."

"Do you think it was a homicide or a suicide?"

"Couldn't say."

Kenzie opened her mouth to make a snarky remark, but Patrick interrupted.

"What's your guess," asked Patrick.

"I'm not in the habit of-of guessing. Please don't touch the decedent. You-you-you detective always want the instant answers. What I do is science. Science will uncover the truth, but she will be precise, methodical, and take her time before she renders her decision."

Kenzie rolled her eyes and quietly mocked. "... always want the instant answers. Sorry if we want to do our jobs."

"I wonder if science can remove the stick from his butt," said Rigsby.

"I heard that."

"You're right," said Patrick. "We want facts. Fortunately, we have them."

"Oh, we do?"

"In abundance."

"You're the consultant that pretends to read minds, aren't you?"

"No. I don't pretend to read minds. I do read minds. But don't we all? Look at Kenz. You can see what she's thinking."

"Obviously," said Kenzie.

"And I can see what you're thinking right now."

"Uh, I-I was thinking that you, sir, are a bumptious fool, and I was wondering exactly what training in forensic pathology you have."

"Ah, but right before that, you were wondering whether you would choose Kenz, Lisbon, or Van Pelt as your concubine in that little fantasy kingdom you like to go to sometimes."

The girls raised their eyebrows in disgust.

"I... I do not."

"Oh, and-and you're right. I-I know nothing of forensic pathology. But Agent Van Pelt– she might offer her theory."

"Or I might not," said Van Pelt.

"Look at her feet."

"I did."

"And what question presents itself?"

"Where's her other shoe?"

"Exactly."
