Kenzie and Teresa walked into the bullpen with a huge stack of folders. Kenzie slammed them onto the table where Cho and Rigsby were sitting. Patrick walked in and was followed by Van Pelt, who was holding a cup of coffee and a spring in her step. Kenzie groaned in annoyance at Van Pelt's happiness.
"Good morning, everybody," greeted Van Pelt.
"Shut up," hissed Kenzie.
"What's so good about it," asked Cho.
"Here, have some more files. They're auditing the division again," said Teresa.
"No problem," said Van Pelt. "Let me just get some milk for this, and I'll dig in."
"No problem? What's with her?"
The team stared at Van Pelt, who was cheerfully greeted some co-workers.
"Notice the relaxed body language and general sense of emotional satisfaction."
"Yes," said Rigsby.
"Someone has engaged her romantic interest."
"Who?"
"Couldn't say."
"Nah. Can't be. She's focused on her work right now. Nah."
"Well then, I must assume the man that kissed her outside was making an embarrassing mistake."
Kenzie slightly tilted her head with a smile. "Really?"
"Who? Who kissed her?"
"I didn't get his name."
"It's probably that knucklehead in payroll. He's been stalking her like a chicken. What did this man look like?"
Kenzie rolled her eyes at Rigsby's question and started walking back to her office. Patrick got a notification from his cell phone.
"How'd you stalk a chicken?"
"You know what I mean."
"Kenzie," called out Patrick.
She turned back around. "What?"
He walked over to her and handed her his phone. She squinted her eyes at the text message.
"There's a very large bomb nearby. Are you smart enough to find it?" read Kenzie.
Everyone from all floors walked out of the building in a calm and orderly fashion, with security directing the evacuation. Minelli filed with Kenzie and Patrick while The rest of the team explained to UNI officers what happened.
"Another bomb threat," said Minelli. "That's the third this year."
"Not on my phone, it isn't," said Patrick.
"Granted, they don't usually come into CBI, but that's what the drills are for."
"The text read, 'Are you smart enough to find it?' I think this was directed at me."
"Relax. It's probably nothing. It could be a hoax," reassured Kenzie.
"Could be."
"Where's the bomb squad," asked Minelli.
"A few minutes away. PD's doing a preliminary sweep of the building. So far, they haven't found anything."
Patrick looked around. "Are you smart enough to find it?"
"Okay, listen, if this really is about Jane, I don't want..."
Patrick walked toward the parking lot.
