In Santa Rosa, the team is standing in front of the crime. A young woman has a sheet draped over her. They come across the yellow tape, meeting with Detective Marco Francis.
"Thanks for coming so quickly," says the detective.
"Your victim is the widow of Macon Tennant," says Teresa.
The detective shakes his head, looking blank.
"Founder of CalSecure Financial and the Lieutenant Governor's close friend."
"We got to use the chopper," eagerly says Rigsby.
"Cool."
They reach the body.
"Two witnesses saw a silver sedan deliberately chase her down. We're getting paint off those trash cans, hoping for a make and model, and we already have a partial plate."
"Sounds like y'all are on top of it," says Kenzie.
"Sure. But I don't mind getting your backup."
Teresa and Patrick clock a flirtatious smile from Francis. Kenzie gives a sarcastic smile.
"We're not back-up. We're lead."
"Yes, ma'am," says Francis, licking his lips.
Cho kneels to lift the sheet off the victim. Jane glances down at her.
"A few days ago, Rosemary, here, filed a missing person report on her teenage son, Travis. He'd been gone over a week. Ran away twice before, with one stint in juvie."
"What was the juvie charge," asks Rigsby.
"DUI on a learner's permit. Her house is eight blocks south, so we figure she was walking home. From where we don't know."
"She was with me."
They all turn around to find Kristina Frye behind them as if she had materialized out of nowhere.
"And who are you exactly? Who let her past the tape?"
"My name is Kristina Frye. I was Rosemary's spiritual advisor."
"What?"
"Please tell me I heard that correctly," smiles an intrigued Patrick.
Teresa checks Patrick with a look. Kenzie leads Kristina aside, and Patrick follows her. The others, except Teresa, go back to the car.
"Ms. Frye," asks Kenzie. "She was with you, where?"
"At my home. We just finished a session. We contacted her husband."
"Her dead husband," questions Teresa.
"That's right. He told her this would happen. He warned her she was putting herself in danger."
"From whom?"
"I don't know. I'm merely a channel."
"A channel for what," asks Patrick.
"For the energy of the departed souls."
Kenzie and Patrick scoff.
"Oh. Of course. So, you knew this murder would happen?"
"Her husband knew it. I just passed his warning on to Rosemary."
"I see."
Patrick turns to Kenzie and Teresa, "By her own admission, she's either a channel for the energy of departed souls, or she's involved in the murder. So you have a choice: call in the Ghostbusters or arrest her."
