Izzie and George had been hiding from Doc when they looked out of the room to see Luna sat on the floor with him, rubbing his belly.

"You're such a good boy Doc, oh yes you are, oh yes you are" she giggled before throwing a toy in Izzie and George's direction "Go fetch, boy!"

They flinched as Doc came sprinting towards the toy, picking it  up and taking it to Meredith who started stroking him and using the same baby voice as Luna had been.

"C'mon, what are you doing? We're gonna be late" Meredith asked towards her friends, Luna skipped so she was by her side whilst Izzie and George practically dragged themselves towards the two.

"We need to talk about the dog" George stated.

"That's not a dog, that's a hyena that escaped the zoo, dressed in dog clothing" Stevens added on.

"Leave him alone" Luna snapped at the two of them "Leave him alone? I don't chew up his clothes, I don't urinate on his bed, I don't try mount him from behind" O'Malley snapped back.

"Oh don't flatter yourself George" The brunette responded with a smirk "People, he's our dog, we love our dog, he loves us" Meredith stated, agreeing with Lovelyn before both girls walked away, leaving Izzie and George alone with the dog.

All doctors and nurses were stood by the stairwell as Richard was making an announcement. "Listen up, people, new year, new rules, or should I say, new year, and we will be enforcing the rules mandated by the Residency Review Committee. There were too many mistakes made last year, fatigue played too big a role, exceeding 80 hours work per week will not be tolerated"

Luna raised her hand "Uh, yes Dr Lovelyn?" Webber asked, waiting for the girls answer.

"Can we stay longer if we want, like if we have no life and would rather spend our time at the hospital?" Webber closed his eyes and took a breath.

"Does that mean we get to have a life?" George asked, following up what the girl before him had asked. Richard chose to ignore them both "Sullivan, you were on call for 28 hours, leave when you hit 30, Grey, you were here until 2am, see you at noon" he stated, looking at the blonde.

"I get to go? Free time?" She asked for clarification whilst Alex said "Run before he changes his mind" Meredith did exactly that.

"Oh, and people, our nurses are gonna have to work extra hours to compensate, so treat them well, cranky nurses don't do us any good" Richard said, finishing up, earning nods all around.

Luna was in the OR with Burke and Cristina, very much feeling like a third wheel. "You can see the mesothelioma now that I've partially dissected it" The attending stated, Luna positioned her head so she was looking over it "Woah, very cool"

"I can't...I can't really see it from here, can I go in closer?" Cristina asked, her angle not being as clear as Lunas.

"You're fine there" Burke stated, blunter than usual before Richard walked in "Preston, good news, we have a heart for Denny Duquette"
