Trafalgar Square, one of the most beautiful places in London, was bustling with life. The water in the fountains was sparkling under the sunlight, casting a shimmering glow across the square. Tall statues stood proudly, watching over the crowds like silent guardians. People were moving about, talking, laughing, and enjoying the day, while pigeons flew around, occasionally landing to peck at the ground.
Karishma stood in the middle of it all, her eyes scanning the surroundings as a gentle smile crept across her face.
“It’s beautiful, Haseena,” she murmured, her voice filled with awe.
Haseena wasn’t looking at the square, though. Her eyes were fixed on Karishma, with a soft smile playing on her lips as she admired how the city lights reflected in Karishma’s eyes.
“Yeah, it is,” she replied, though it was clear her words weren’t meant for the square but for the girl standing beside her.
They roamed around the square, taking in the sights and sounds, until they found a quiet corner to sit. Karishma sat down, her eyes still wandering as if she was absorbing everything around her, her mind clearly far away. Haseena noticed the shift in her and leaned closer.
“Kia hua ab bata bi dejeyay?” she asked softly.
"Kuch bi nae....…”Karishma met her eyes and gave a small, distracted smile. “
But Haseena wasn’t convinced. "Ap ko pata ha jab tak ap share nae kar lati ap ko parishan rahen gi aur ap ko dakh kar hum.....,” she said gently.
Karishma sighed, looking down for a moment before finally speaking. “Actually… Uncle nay humen apni wife kay baray ma bataya.....”
"Aur....."Haseena nodded.
Karishma exhaled, “Haseena, his wife… she died because of some kind of disease."
Haseena’s breath caught in her throat, her heart tightening at the thought of Karishma feeling upset about this, overcome one else wife what if......the thought was terrifying.
She quickly composed herself, though, trying to ease her. “Karishma, tou ap kiyun tab say parishan han? Har kisi ki is duniya say janay ki koi na koi waja tou banti han na. it was just her time.”
Karishma shook her head slowly, “No, Haseena… it’s not just that. Do you know how much she suffered because of this and the thing is that in the end, Uncle had to be the one to decide… to let her go. He had to make that choice, and he didn’t want to. He didn’t want to lose her.”
Haseena’s heart clenched, understanding the weight of those words.
“Haseena... how can someone let go of the people at the same time when they are in so much love with them? How can anyone make that decision when they love someone so deeply?”
Haseena sighed, her gaze dropped to the ground as she collected her thoughts. "It happens,” she began slowly, “when you truly love someone, their happiness, their wellbeing, their peace comes before your own desires, wants, your own happiness. Love isn’t just about holding on… it’s also about knowing when to let go, even if it breaks you.”
"Karishma letting go doesn't always means to lose someone to death, sometimes it's about to lose your loved ones to destiny, sometimes to circumstances, sometimes to our own decisions, and sometimes to prioritize other decisions....." Haseena sighed.
Karishma’s eyes darkened with memories, and she looked straight at Haseena, “You let go of me. When I was the one you needed the most, you still chose to push me away. How.... how you were so strong haseena.?”
