As they reached her room, haseena made the door clicked shut behind them. Haseena turned to face Karishma, her heart aching at the sight before her.
Karishma stood there, her eyes were glistening with unshed tears. She was trying so hard not to blink, knowing that the moment she did, those tears would fall. Haseena's chest tightened at the sight of her struggle.
Haseena reached out, her fingers trembling slightly as she gently held Karishma's hand. "Please," Haseena whispered, "Say something... it’s killing me."
Karishma’s silence lingered, her lips quivering as she struggled to hold everything in. Her eyes shimmered, full of hurt and betrayal. It was as if the weight of the world was pressing down on her shoulders.
With a hesitant step forward, Haseena closed the distance between them and slowly wrapped her arms around Karishma, pulling her into a tight embrace. She closed her eyes, feeling the warmth of Karishma's body against hers.
Karishma trembled in her arms, and the storm she had been holding back surged to the surface. She began to melt into Haseena, her body shaked as the dam within her broke. And then, without warning, the tears karishma had been holding back finally slipped down her cheeks. Her sobs were soft at first, but then the pain came rushing out in broken whispers.
"Jhoot bola ap nay hum se... har baat chupai ap nay hum se... har ek baat jhoot thi ap ki," Karishma choked out between sobs, with accusation and hurt.
Haseena could feel her heart shattering as Karishma’s words hit her, the guilt started to wrapped around her like rough blanket.
Karishma pulled back abruptly, breaking the hug. Her eyes, now filled with tears she could no longer control, were piercing. "Kia galti thi humare bhaiya ki?" she demanded, with her voice trembling as she spoke.
She felt weak at her knees and collapsed onto the bed, her hands covering her face as she broke down completely, her sobs were the only sound echoing in the quiet room.
Haseena sat down beside Karishma, her heart heavy as she looked at her. Karishma’s eyes were swollen with tears, her gaze distant and broken. She turned to Haseena, her voice barely a whisper, but the words cut deep.
"Hamare bhaiya ko maar diya," Karishma said, her voice trembling with grief.
Haseena's heart shattered at those words. The eyes she had always wished to see shining with joy were now shimmering with tears, and it tore her apart. Gently, Haseena placed her hand on Karishma's arm, hoping to soothe the unbearable pain that gripped her.
"Apko pata hai..." Karishma’s voice quivered, her breathing shallow as she struggled to speak through her sobs. "Jab us din hum hospital mein thay, humne kab tak wait kiya unka… par woh nahi aaye. Phir hum nay umeed chor di ky shayad paise nae mily aur hum ghar ky liyya ready ho gay. Aur hum us time nahi karwana chahte the surgery. Humara dil bohat ghabra raha tha, koi nahi tha wahan. Kis se poochte, kis se baat karte?" Her voice cracked as fresh tears fell from her eyes. "Phir, last moment pe doctor ne humen roka, aur kaha ky payment ho gayi hai."
"Humen laga bhaiya nay kar di payment aur shayad wo khud kisi kaam mein phans gaye honge… aur baad mein aayenge." She placed her hand over her face, her shoulders shaking uncontrollably.
Haseena watched her, every tear that fell from Karishma’s eyes felt like a stab to her own heart. She wished she could take away all of her pain, but she knew there were no words strong enough to heal the wounds left by this loss.
Through her sobs, Karishma said, "Apko pata hai, jab humari surgery hui, tab bi koi humra attended nae ta wahan tab hum say bardasht nae hua hum nay doctor say boht request ki ky humri bandage usi din hi remove kar dayn. Aur unhun nay kar dia even ky he said is say affect ho ga... But all I wanted to see him, I was so afraid."
