Around 8.30am....
Haseena stepped into the kitchen, her body was still humming with the warmth of the morning she just spent with Karishma. She tied her hair, her mind half focused on what to make for breakfast, though her thoughts kept drifting back to the moments with Karishma.
As she started preparing, she heard soft footsteps behind her, and before she could turn around, Piya’s voice filled the space.
"Good morning, Haseena!" Piya greeted cheerfully.
Haseena, her back still to Piya, smiled softly to herself but didn’t face her. "Good morning," she replied.
Her voice was calm though she knew too well that Piya wouldn’t miss the slight edge in her tone. She could feel the flush on her cheeks, and her instincts told her Piya would be quick to notice and she will not leave any chance to tease her.
Piya, took a few steps closer."Is everything... okay?" she asked.
"Yeah, yeah, everything's fine," Haseena replied quickly, focusing intently on the eggs she was cracking into the pan. "Baith jao ja kar piya hum breakfast bana kar latay han."
Piya didn’t sit. Instead, she slowly made her way around the counter, and hold her from shoulder and turned her around, her eyes narrowing as she studied Haseena’s face. And there it was the slight flush on her cheeks, the way she was avoiding eye contact.
"Ohhhh, I see now," Piya teased, folding her arms and leaning against the counter with a mischievous smirk. "You’re not even looking at me. Something happened last night, didn’t it?"
Haseena’s heart skipped a beat. She turned her head slightly, glancing at Piya from the corner of her eye, trying to play it cool. "Kuch bi kehti ho piya tum,"
"You can’t fool me, Haseena. Your face is saying way more than your words right now, this glow, these shine in your eyes, this smile." She said in playful voice.
Haseena groaned internally, knowing there was no escaping Piya’s teasing now. She turned off the stove, leaning her hands against the counter with a resigned sigh. "Piya, seriously," she started, but the soft blush on her cheeks only deepened.
Piya let out a small laugh, shaking her head. "I knew it!" she exclaimed. "You’re absolutely glowing today. You can’t hide that from me." She nudged Haseena’s shoulder lightly, her grin never fading. "So, you want to tell me what really happened, or should I just keep guessing?"
Haseena eyes widen in shock. Piya's teasing grin grew wider as she leaned in closer to Haseena. "Come on, just tell me what happened,"
Haseena shot her a side eye, shaking her head, trying to focus back on the breakfast. "Are you serious.....?" she muttered, trying to suppress the growing smile on her lips.
Piya chuckled, waving her hand playfully. "Oh, no, no, not serious. Just, you know, in general like a yes or no kind of thing," she said, giving Haseena an innocent look that only made her teasing more relentless. "Just yes or no?"
Haseena groaned, realizing there was no escaping. She turned toward Piya, letting out a long, defeated breath. "Yes," she mumbled, her face flushing even more.
Piya let out a triumphant laugh, clapping her hands together. "I knew it! Oh my god, I knew it! You’ve got that look!" She nudged Haseena’s shoulder again, beaming at her. "Don’t worry, I won’t ask for details..."
Haseena rolled her eyes at her and said, "now don't a word about it go sit have breakfast...."
"Yeah, yeah ...." Piya said giving her teasing smile moving towards dinning.
