Christian's phone rang on his bedside table just as the sun beginning to rise.
Christian groaned, reaching for his phone blindly with one hand while rubbing his eyes with other.
"Sid! Gising na, ang aga aga badtrip ka. Mamaya niyan late ka na naman matutulog. Matulog ka kasi nang maaga!" Perlas energetic voice blared through the speaker, making him wince.
Christian sighed, "Ate Pat, seriously?
Alam mo na, kailangan mo ng cheering squad," she teased, laughter evident in her voice.
Christian chuckled despite his annoyance. "Ang ingay mo talaga, ate Pat, bibig mo walang tigil. Pero salamat pa rin, I guess I need it."
perlas gasped on the other side of the call. "Anong 'I guess' ka riyan? Dapat sure ka!" she lpaused. "Are you okay?
Shaking his head, "Anong kulang sa energy? Talagang sobra lang talaga 'yung sayo. Baka nakakalimutan mo, ikaw itong ginising ako ng maaga. Pero okay lang ako, don't worry about me.
"You wouldn't dare."
"Oh, you know I would. Ingat ka d'yan! Alam mo na kailangan pa kita, remember?"
"Yeah, yeah, okay. Thanks, ate Pat. You're the pest—esti, best."
"Bwisit ka! But I know I am the best," she said cheekily before hanging up, leaving Christian smiling as he got out of the bed.
Christian sat at his desk, trying to focus on his work. He was still reeling from the encounter with Irene the previous day, but he knew he had to push through. Work was the only thing keeping him grounded.
Nine in the morning, His phone buzzed, snapping him out of his thoughts. He glanced at the screen and saw Perlas’s name flashing. He picked it up, trying to sound upbeat.
