Christian sat at a small café, his fingers nervously tracing the rim of his coffee cup. The place was bustling with the mid-morning crowd, but his thoughts were far from the chatter and clinking of utensils.

Matapos ang ilang araw na pag-iisip at pagdadalawang-isip, he finally agreed to meet with them. This could be a turning point in his career.

"Nervous, Sid?" a familiar voice broke through his thoughts.

Christian looked up to see Perlas, his best friend, sliding into the seat across from him. Her eyes sparkled with mischief as usual, her bright smile immediately lifting the tension in the air.

"Maybe just a little," Christian admitted, managing a small smile. Little? No, hindi lamang little. Sinabi lamang niya ito dahil sigurado na aasarin siya ni Perlas if he told her the thruth. Kilala niya ang kaniyang kaibigan, malakas itong mang-asar. "I just— I don’t know if I’m ready for this."

"Ready ka na, Sid," Perlas said with a confident grin, patting his shoulder. "You’ve been killing it with your brand. This is just the next step. Saka isipin mo, if this works out, you’ll be everywhere. Mas magiging sikat ka pa sa akin," she teased, flipping her hair dramatically.

Christian chuckled, shaking his head. "That’s exactly what I’m afraid of. At saka, kelan ka pa naging sikat? Feelingera ka na naman, Perlas."

Perlas gasped in mock offense, playfully hitting his arm. "Hoy, rude ka! Pero seryoso, Sid, kaya mo ‘yan. Kung hindi ka man sure sa sarili mo, tandaan mo, maraming taong naniniwala sa’yo. Isa na ako dun, kahit lagi mo akong inaasar."

Before Christian could respond, his phone buzzed on the table. It was a notification that the representative from Big Gym Products had arrived. Napalunok si Christian, and Perlas noticed the slight tension in his posture.

"Relax, Sid," Perlas said, her tone softening. "Kaya mo ‘to. I’ll leave you to it. Call me after, okay?"

Christian nodded, taking a deep breath. "Thanks, Perlas."

As Perlas stood to leave, she leaned down and whispered, "At huwag kang mag-alala, Sid. Kung sino mang CEO yan, kaya mo ‘yan. Baka nga ikaw pa magpa-fall dun."

Christian rolled his eyes, but he couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at his lips. "Sige na, umalis ka na. Baka lamunin pa kita ng buhay dito."

Perlas winked at him before sauntering off, leaving Christian to his thoughts.

As she left, Christian turned his attention to the door of the café. The man scanned the room before his gaze settled on Christian. He walked over with a friendly smile.

"Mr. Martinez?" the man asked, extending his hand.

"Yes, that’s me," Christian replied, standing up to shake the man’s hand.

"I’m Kevin Santos, the executive assistant to Mr. Vrix Gallano. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you in person," Kevin said warmly.

Christian smiled, though his nerves were still there. "Likewise. Please, have a seat."
