Wishmaker1028: Before I get started on this chapter, my family and I were hit hard by Hurricane Helene. We lost power and we got it back just a few days ago. We had gotten really lucky that the house wasn't in worse shape. However, we don't have any internet at the house at the current moment. The only way I was able to update today was by using my father-in-law's internet. So yeah, there is no telling when our internet comes back. I could try and keep using my father-in-law's internet to update but I kinda don't want to do that unless I have to. So for now, one chapter is all I can do for now. With that aside, onwards with Get Tannen!

...

Marty was confused. The window rolled down and there was an older Kid Tannen. "Huh?! Kid Tannen?"

Kid brought out a long gun and pointed it at Marty, "No one messes with the Tannen family."

Marty closed his eyes and waited for the end. Before he could do anything, Doc came back with the De Lorean. Doc rear ended Kid's limo, forcing the gun out of his hand. Doc opened the De Lorean's door.

Marty opened his eyes, "Doc!"

Doc instructed, "Marty! Get in! This timeline has been compromised!"

Marty responded, tearfully, "Don't have to tell me twice!"

With that, Marty went into the De Lorean. Doc closed the door and activated the flying features.

Doc explained, "Somehow, something we did in 1931 allowed Kid Tannen to escape his date with justice!"

Marty finally started to sob, "T - that's not all, Doc... Annie doesn't exist in this timeline... She's gone... No one has heard of her!"

Doc perked up, "What?! That's not supposed to happen!"

Marty was in tears, "It has - something is definitely wrong. We have to go back, not just for Annie's sake, but to stop Kid."

Doc replied, "No argument from me. Hang on!"

With that, the two went back in time leaving a pair of fire trials in the sky.

...

When Doc and Marty finally arrived back in 1931, it was night time. Marty had finally stopped crying but he was holding Doc's shoulder like no tomorrow. Doc was trying to hold back tears. Now was not the time to cry - it was the time to make a plan. Doc turned to Marty.

The scientist asked, "Hey...for Annie?"

It took Marty a few minutes to process the answer but it didn't take him long. "For Annie." He turned to Doc and asked, "What's the plan?"

Doc explained, "Sometime tonight, Kid Tannen is supposed to be betrayed by his moll, a singer named Trixie Trotter."

Doc got out of the De Lorean.

Marty stated, "That nice lady that I saw come out of the speakeasy."

Doc confirmed, "Exactly. When she does, history says that Tannen'll be arrested by your great uncle Steven Baines, a rookie cop."

Marty started to say, "Yes so I don't know what happened there or why Annie doesn't..." He held back tears. He apologized, "Sorry..."

Doc responded, "Don't be - we've got a lot of ground to cover if we're going to get the timeline restored correctly. To be fair, I miss her too... But in any event, somehow we've completely changed history so neither of these events happens, condemning your family to generations of abuse at the hands of the Tannen crime family. And Annie..."

Marty finished his sentence, a bit sour, "Along with Uncle Robert too won't exist..."

Doc sighed, "I know you hate your Uncle Robert for what he did Annie years ago after her mom passed away but you still need him to exist..."

Marty replied, "I know you are right Doc but it still doesn't make it right."

Doc wasn't going to argue, there was no need to. Marty was right but he didn't feel like arguing with him right now. Doc decided to change the subject.

He commented, "You need to go back to Kid Tannen's speakeasy, find out what's gone wrong, and get Kid Tannen arrested!"

Marty stated, "Let me put on my hat on and I'm good to go." That's when Marty came out with a blue suit on, a fake mustache, and a blue hat. He said, "Do I have to wear a mustache?"

Doc insisted, "It's essential! You can't let Kid know that you're the same troublemaker that failed to attempt to kill me!"

Marty questioned, "You sure that you can't come in with me?"

Doc explained, "It's far too dangerous! You may be easy to disguise with your nondescript features, but ever since my daring escape from the police and the mob, my distinctive face has been plastered all over every paper from here to Reino."

Marty raised a brow, teasing a bit, "Nondescript?"

Doc replied, "I'll find a safe place to hunker down...that flophouse ought to fit the bill. You find me there if you need me. I'll put the De Lorean in an alley right behind it."

With that, Doc headed over to the flophouse. Marty walked into the town square. He had passed by Edna's table.

She stated, "Pardon me, sir! From the way you're dressed and your general aura of seediness, I can only infer only one thing - you're headed for Tannen's speakeasy. Am I right?"

Marty replied, "Uh yeah, can you tell me the way?"

He was surprised that she didn't recognize him. This disguise might work after all. All of the sudden, Edna's face dropped.

She stoneley responded, "Down. Straight down. The last stop before the inferno. Unfortunately, I don't have the power to stop you. But I beg you to tarry here a few more seconds and listen to my song..."

That's when she got out a small accordion and started to sing really badly. All of the sudden, a car went whooshing by her with Einstein in it. Edna screamed as Marty paled. That's when he realized. Was Emmett here? Just right on cue, Emmett came over.

He apologized, "Sorry, Miss Strickland. Just a little experimental prototype gone momentarily awry!"

Emmett went over to Einstein, to make sure that he was okay.

Edna was furious, "Mr. Brown! Why is there a dog in that vehicle?"

Emmett turned to her, "Why? Well to advance the human condition, of course!" That's when he turned to Marty and smiled at his friend, "Hello Mike!"

Edna did a double take, "Mike? Mr. Corleone? What are you doing in that getup?"

Marty explained, "I'm goin' undercover!"

Edna perked up, "How exciting! You'll have to give me an exclusive some time. Right now, I've got some souls to save."

Emmett told Marty, "And you'll have to get an eyeful of my newest experiment!"

Marty asked, "You aren't angry at me?"

Emmett answered truthfully, "Nah, more mad at Estelle than anything. I was hoping that she would be back by now but she's still in Dimmsdale."

Marty seemed to have nodded, trying not to cry, "I understand."

Emmett added, "Come by the gazebo when you get a chance. You won't believe what Einy and I've been up to."

Marty quietly said, "Famous last words... Alright, now where's that speakeasy?"
