Once the waiting time was over, I turned all three over at the same time and...two pink lines.
The first test: two pink lines.
The second test: Pregnant.
And the third test: Pregnant.
Little doubt was possible; I was pregnant...
Was it the right timing? Absolutely not—I had just finished my tour, and I was already starting to work on TS12; getting pregnant was not something I had planned for right now. But on the other hand, do I want to keep it? Yes...I'm 35 years old, and I know that it's with Travis that I wanted to start a family, but not now. Before making a decision, I need to talk to Travis.
Kylie asked to come in, and I let her.
"Are you okay, Tay? I'm running out of excuses; Travis is starting to worry. Did you take the tests?"
"Yes, they're positive, Ky—all three..."
"And?" she asked me, and I could see that look in her eyes that clearly said I hadn't understood what she wanted me to answer. "I mean, what do you want to do? I know this wasn't really in your plans."
"I'm 35 years old. If I want to have a child and I have the opportunity, I'd like to keep it, but I don't know if it's the right time..."
"Just know that no matter what you choose, Trav will be understanding, and he'll always be there for you through your pregnancy or your abortion—he won't leave. I'm telling you this so you don't make a decision thinking one of the two choices will scare Travis away. In his eyes, you are everything he has ever wanted and probably the love of his life; I don't need to ask him—I can see it in his eyes."
"Thank you so much, Ky. I'm going to tell Travis when we get back. I don't want to make everyone uncomfortable, lol."
"Do what you want, Tay. We should go back down before they come up and see the tests."
"I'll keep them; don't worry, I'll take them in my bag."
I put the tests back in their boxes and hid the boxes at the bottom of my bag under my scarf.
"Oh, and by the way, for the excuses, I said you were on the phone with Tree for an emergency and that I didn't know any more."
"Thanks, Ky. After all, I should probably call Tree to let her know."
We went down the stairs, and I found Travis on an armchair, his parents on the couch, and Jason on the other armchair facing his brother. Ky sat next to her mother-in-law, and I looked at Travis, who nodded for me to come over. As I approached, he grabbed me by the hips and lifted me onto his lap. I wrapped my arms around his neck to hold on, and he wrapped his around my hips, placing his hand on the outside of my thigh.
"Is everything okay, Taylor?" Donna asked gently.
"Yes, just a problem with the media, haha, nothing unusual."
We stayed for another couple of hours; the girls had already gone to bed a little while ago.
Travis announced, "We should get going; it's getting late."
I got up from Travis's lap, we said goodbye to everyone, and then we headed toward the car. The closer we got to the house, the more the pressure mounted.
"Tay, are you sure you're okay? You seem a bit distant."
"No, don't worry, everything is fine."
Once we got home, we took off our shoes, and I couldn't hold it in any longer.
"Travis."
"Wow, what did I do?"
I laughed at his remark.
