days at school dragged on, each one more tense than the last. Every time Ken and Wenny crossed paths, the tension between them seemed to grow stronger. Wenny couldn't stand how aloof and indifferent Ken was, while Ken couldn't shake off the feeling that something was brewing between them—something more than just anger or annoyance.

It didn’t help that Ken’s life outside school was becoming more complicated. Crime in the city was rising, and balancing her responsibilities as Spider-Man and a student was getting harder. But Ken had no choice—this was the path she’d chosen. She just never expected Wenny to keep intruding on her thoughts, as if the girl had somehow found a way to worm into her mind.

One afternoon, Ken sat alone under a tree during lunch, away from the busy crowd of students chatting and laughing. She needed a break, a moment to breathe. But just as she took a bite of her food, Wenny appeared, standing right in front of her with that same irritated look on her face.

"Hey," Wenny snapped. "Why do you keep avoiding me?"

Ken glanced up at her, chewing slowly before answering, "I’m not avoiding you."

"Yeah, sure." Wenny rolled her eyes, arms crossed. "You act like you don’t care about anything, and it’s honestly really annoying."

Ken raised an eyebrow. "Why do you care so much about what I do?"

Wenny opened her mouth to retort but stopped herself. Why did she care so much? She couldn’t understand it, but something about Ken’s cool and detached demeanor irritated her more than it should have. Maybe it was because Wenny was used to people reacting, to them caring about what she said, but Ken was different. And that made her feel... something.

Instead of answering, Wenny just huffed and sat down next to Ken, much to her surprise. “You’re hard to read, you know that?”

Ken sighed softly. "Maybe I just don’t have anything to say."

Wenny studied her for a moment, eyes narrowing as if trying to figure her out. "You’re hiding something."

Ken stiffened slightly but kept her expression neutral. "Everyone has their secrets."

Wenny wasn’t satisfied with that answer, but before she could press further, the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch. Ken stood up, throwing away her trash and putting on her helmet. As usual, she would ride off on her motorcycle, not looking back. But this time, as she revved the engine, she caught a glimpse of Wenny watching her from across the yard. The look on Wenny’s face was different—less angry, more curious. Almost as if she was starting to see Ken in a different light.

Later that night, Ken was once again out patrolling the city as Spider-Man. The streets were quieter than usual, but that didn’t mean danger wasn’t lurking. As she swung through the air, her thoughts drifted back to Wenny, her mind replaying their conversation.

Why does she care so much? Ken thought, landing on a rooftop and scanning the area below.

It was unusual for anyone to take that much interest in her personal life, and it was starting to throw her off balance. But she couldn’t afford to get distracted—her duty as Spider-Man came first. Still, Wenny’s words echoed in her mind, and Ken couldn’t shake the feeling that things between them were far from over.

Suddenly, a loud crash from an alley below snapped her out of her thoughts. Ken immediately jumped into action, swinging down to the source of the noise. A group of men were trying to break into a small electronics store, and Ken wasn’t about to let that happen. Within seconds, she had them all tangled in her webs, and the police were on their way.

As she stood there, watching the flashing red and blue lights approach, Ken couldn’t help but wonder how long she could keep this up. How long she could juggle her life as Spider-Man and her growing entanglement with Wenny.

Whatever this is, she thought, it’s getting more complicated than I expected.
