With each passing day, Ken and Wenny continued to grow stronger together. Their love blossomed, and their connection deepened, but Ken was still haunted by the memories of the monster attack. Although she was determined to move forward, the shadow of that dark day lingered in the back of her mind, waiting for the right moment to strike again.

One evening, as they lounged on the rooftop, Wenny noticed that Ken seemed distant, her gaze lost in thought. “Hey,” she said softly, nudging Ken’s arm. “What’s going on in that pretty head of yours?”

Ken sighed, brushing her fingers through her hair. “I’m just thinking… about what happened and how easily it could happen again. What if something worse comes next time? I don’t want to let anyone down, especially you.”

Wenny moved closer, wrapping an arm around Ken’s shoulders. “You won’t let anyone down, Ken. You’re a hero, but even heroes have their limits. It’s okay to feel scared. It means you care.”

“But what if I freeze up again? What if I can’t protect you?” Ken’s voice trembled slightly, the vulnerability surfacing.

Wenny held her gaze steady. “We’ll figure it out together. You’re not alone in this. You’re my partner, and that means we face things together, no matter what.”

The warmth of Wenny’s words washed over Ken, but the fear still clung to her. “I don’t want to be a burden, Wenny. I can’t bear the thought of losing you.”

“You could never be a burden,” Wenny reassured her. “You’re my strength, and I’ll always be here to support you. But you also need to let me in. You don’t have to carry this alone.”

Ken nodded, knowing deep down that Wenny was right. “I’ll try,” she promised, her voice earnest.

An Unexpected Visitor

The next day, as Ken and Wenny were enjoying their lunch in the cafeteria, an unexpected figure entered the room. It was Jake, Ken’s best friend, and a familiar face to Wenny. He approached their table with a serious expression.

“Hey, Ken. Can we talk?” Jake asked, glancing at Wenny before returning his gaze to Ken.

“Sure, what’s up?” Ken replied, her heart racing slightly. She could sense that whatever Jake wanted to discuss was important.

Once they were a bit away from the table, Jake spoke in a hushed tone. “I know you’ve been through a lot lately, and I want to make sure you’re okay. But there’s something else. I’ve been hearing some rumors around school about strange things happening—like unusual sightings and reports of people acting erratically. I think we need to be prepared.”

Ken frowned, her stomach tightening. “What kind of strange things?”

Jake shrugged, looking concerned. “People say they’ve seen shadows lurking around at night, and some of them say they’ve heard voices—threatening voices. I’m worried it might be linked to that monster you fought.”

“What do you mean?” Ken asked, her pulse quickening. “Are you saying there could be another monster?”

“I don’t know, but we need to be vigilant,” Jake replied. “I’m not trying to scare you, but if something is out there, we need to be ready to face it. Especially with your powers.”

Ken felt a surge of anxiety at the thought. “I just got through one monster. I don’t know if I’m ready for another fight.”

Jake placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. “We’ll help you. Wenny and I will be right by your side, no matter what. You don’t have to face this alone.”
