CHAPTER 31: Emergency

Time had gone incredibly fast for the couple. Their relationship is going strong as it is built with trust, sincerity, and passion. Both of them improved in handling arguments and misunderstanding at mas kilala na nila ang isa't-isa ngayon. Alam na nila ang dapat gawin tuwing nagtatampo, nagseselos, o nagagalit ang isa. 

Alam ng mga taong nakapaligid sa kanila ang lahat ng paghihirap na pinagdaanan nila bago nakamit ang matinding kasiyahan sa isa't-isa. All of their friends was happy for their relationship and they could only admit that the couple was really made for each other lalo na ngayong dalawang taon na silang magkasintahan. 

In those two years, there will still misunderstandings. May mga panahong nagkaroon ng tampo si Malory dahil halos nawalan ng time si Mason sa kanya. Sinubsob kasi nito ang sarili sa pag-ahon sa kanyang kumpanya, dahilan para umabot siya sa puntong makalimot sa mga traditional monthly dates nila. Mason tried her best to compensate for all the times that she made her lover upset, showering it with sudden dates, surprises, and gifts. 

Malory always chose to understand her girlfriend, knowing the pressure and stress that it bears from its own company. Recently, their dinner dates would have the younger to wait for several minutes turned into hours until Mason arrives. There were also times wherein Mason wouldn't be able to come anymore causing the younger to be disappointed. Her disappointment caused by hours of choosing an outfit and polishing her make-up to make herself remain desirable for Mason's eyes only for the latter to ghost her on some of their dates. 

Malory never allowed the neglection to get the best of her lalo na't sinisisi niya parin ang sarili bilang isa sa dahilan kung bakit muntik nang mawala ang lahat ng pinaghirapan ni Mason. She wanted to be supportive of the latter's career, making sure to have the longest patience on her system. Mason's company was already doing its best once again as the CEO was able to regain all of her biggest shareholders and even gained new ones. 

What Malory couldn't comprehend was the fact that her lover kept on promising to make amends with her but since their last dinner date, where Malory had waited for an hour for nothing, Mason hasn't done anything still. 

They often sleep on the same bed, whether it may be on either of their place, but Malory can't help but to feel the lack of affection and assurance from her girlfriend. Mason may shower her with gifts as its way of apologizing but what the younger seeks for is a little of its precious time. There was this evident fear on the back of Malory's mind that the both of them are slowly drifting apart from each other. 


Malory's attention was snapped back into reality when Jaziel suddenly clapped both of its hand near her face, making her startled. 

"Lalim ng iniisip mo, Mal. Nakikinig ka pa ba sa sinasabi ko?" 

"H-huh? Ahh oo naman" Jaziel wasn't convinced by Malory's answer. 

"Ahh talaga? Sige, ano huli kong sinabi?" Malory tried to squeeze the tiniest bit of her brain cell as she tried to recall whatever it was that they were discussing about a couple of minutes ago. To no avail, she sighed out of defeat, admitting that her attention may have slipped a little from their conversation. The both of them happened to bump into each other sa isang bookstore. Malory went in there today to look for a certain book that she has been eyeing for awhile. While Jaziel, also a bookworm, found herself roaming inside the store after being ditched by Selena due to its last minute cancellation of their date. They can only laugh nang maisip nilang pareho pala sila ng sitwasyon ni Malory. Parehong na-ghost sa mga date. Ang pinagkaiba lang, si Malory kagabi hindi sinupot. Habang si Jaziel naman ay kanina lang.

"See? Sabi ko, I was planning to continue my plan of opening a recording label. Selena once showed me a video of you singing so it made me interested." Malory slightly formed her mouth into an 'o' and subtly nodded her head towards Jaziel, the latter's last sentence made her brows furrow a little. 

"What do you mean 'interested?'"

"Well, sayang naman kasi potential mo. You sound really good kaya baka naman willing ka to be one of my first artist? Ayoko kasi sana munang kumuha ng mga kilala na sa industry. Tutal bago palang ang recording label, mas magandang magpakilala ng bago rin na mukha. And I was hoping that it will be you, Mal." Jaziel explained, trying to convince Malory. The shorter girl went silent for awhile. Now that she think of it, matagal na rin siyang nakakulong sa condo niya. Mason had tried to ask if she wants to come back as her secretary but Malory softly declined dahil naisip niya na hindi ito ang gusto niyang maging trabaho. She was battling her thoughts dahil in her age, hindi niya parin alam ang gusto niyang gawin. She wanted to do something that is relevant to her interests such as paintings and singing which when opened up to Mason, the latter quickly supported. She even offered to use her connection so things will be easier for her beloved girlfriend. But Malory, being an independent woman, wanted to gain everything from hardwork. Nilunok niya na nga ang pride niya dahil hindi siya nanalo sa argumento nila ni Mason tungkol sa pag-suporta sa mga luho at pangangailan nito. 

"Oh ang lalim mo na naman mag-isip. I'm not gonna force you to have your decision now. I'll give you time to think. Ang akin lang, don't let that potential go into waste." Jaziel flashed a warm smile towards her which made her smile back. 

"Alright. Thank you, Jaz. I'll definitely think about it. Tsaka kailangan ko rin muna i-consult kay Mason. Alam mo naman yun." Both of them cracked a laugh. Jaziel immediately understood what Malory means. They both know Mason as someone who's possessive and protective especially when it comes to her girlfriend. 

"Sabagay baka mamaya mag-selos pa sakin yun. Hindi ko na nga kinakaya pagka-grumpy ni Sel tas dadagdag pa girlfriend mo. Basta let me know agad once you made a decision. Anyway, I'll have to go na. Dadaanan ko pa yung ibang branch ng coffee shops ko." 

They exchanged a warm hug before bidding their goodbyes. Malory planned to drop by Mason's company because she was missing the latter. As she just entered her car (a car bought by Mason as an anniversary gift) she reached for her phone when she heard it made a buzzing sound. Her curiosity started to cloud her mind when she saw that it was Mason's personal driver who was calling.
