"I killed her. I killed her. She was my sister, and I killed her. Why did I do it? Why, why, why?"

Clave caught her head in her hands. She was still in the vision, next to Mystic, who was still bent over Ruby's dead body. Clave's tears would not stop. Her body shook and she was hiccuping.

"I'm sorry, Ruby... So sorry... Sorry, sorry, sorry..."

As the young girl bent her head further forward, the Crown fell in front of her with a metallic thud. This brought her immediately back to the golden room. Total silence had returned. Clave was no longer sobbing, but, with her face fixed on the glittering floor, she wasn't moving either. She couldn't take her eyes off her guilt-ridden reflection. She felt like a monster. She had killed someone. The Queen. Her sister. Her family. And she didn't even know why.

It was too late now. Ruby was dead.

"But... She would have died... Either way."

She was beginning to remember. A battle had been fought, here, at the temple, in the ruins above her. Hundreds of people had died, burnt alive in the flames of war. And then Mystic had been plunged into a deep sleep, from which she had emerged with amnesia.

"And now?"

This question swirled like a hurricane in her mind. The Crown waited on the floor, as it had done for years, in this room. It had waited a long time for someone, a queen or king who would not flinch in the face of doubt, who would stand firm in spite of everything and guide their people through the darkness. Clave was definitely not that person. But her sister was counting on her. Griselda, Catherine and all the others were counting on her too. And there was no question of Arthur becoming king. Who knew what he would be able to do with the powers of the Crown in his hands! To do that, she had to take the throne in his place.

So she picked herself up and put the Crown back on her head, then turned to Noah. She crouched down beside him and tried to carry him, but he was heavier than she had expected. After a few minutes, she managed to drag him to the door. Then, with the help of the tattoo on her shoulder, she said the code again and opened the door.

She slowly made her way up the dark corridor, and when she arrived outside, she looked around for the others. She didn't have to do it for long, and when she had found them, she realised something important. She had a lot of doubts, but with her friends by her side, she was almost certain she could do it. She had to remember that, and hold on.

Everyone was counting on her, and the last thing she wanted to do was break their trust. So she was going to be strong and carry out her mission, her dear sister's last wish.
